Account question

I have currently had the original prophecies campaign for some time now...but I decided that it's time to upgrade to factions. I want to buy an access key from the online store but I don't know if it works. Is it that when I buy a key and enter it in the log in menu it will automatically unlock all of factions and start to stream or download factions online for me so that I can play it? Will someone please clarify it for me and explain how the access keys work?

The key will give you access. If you go via the integrated store you probably wont even have to enter it (I think its automatic).
Asd for downloading, the game will download the maps as and when they are needed. Alternatively run GW with the -image flag to get everything at once.

That's correct. If you buy the key online, they will not send any CDs or package. You just have to add the key to your account and the client will automatically download Chapter 1 areas and skills. I'm not sure if you will have to manually type the key code or if it will be added directly by them though I bought my chapters in regular stores.

Not much streaming will happen. Without being aware of it you already have most general Factions data on your PC. It's just not "unlocked". New data will be streamed seamless as you enter new areas.

Of couse you have to enter it yourself silly, not all accounts are merged.
