Bortak's or Ghial? that is the question

That's it. For MM, what is best: Bortak's set or Ghial's staff?

Please discuss.

Standard Answer #1: It Depends.

Both are good, both are acceptable. The differences depend on what you prefer.

Bortaks = Double 20% Fast Cast, +1 20%, 17 energy conditionally.

Ghials = 20/20, +1 20%, 15 energy unconditionally.



That said, personally I use the 20/20 crafter wand, and switch between Bortaks Cesta (9 or less minions) and Konruu's Fervor (10 minions)

I use Bortak's. I like the fast casting (including some instant casts), which happens pretty often. The death +1 also is nice for higher level minions. I dont find recharge as too much of a problem. Ok nevermind, I lied. Even though 5 seconds (Bone Fiends) doesn't seem like a long time, I get pissed off when you're waiting for it to recharge. Everything dies and you're full on energy, and when it finally recharges you can only make a few because then you're out of energy.

Ok maybe it's just me..

I still prefer Bortak's overall, but there are times I wish for shorter recharge times.

I personally use the end-game green Wayward Wand (Death) with Bortak's Bone Cesta so I can get both the most energy and recharge/fast cast.

Depends on what kinda minions you choose. You don't need fast recharge unless you are going for vamp horrors/golemn. Most of the stuff you would be using in a MM build has 5 or less recharge. I switch between 40% speed and 20/20 speed/recharge depending on my build. I personally like the +1DM mod. This said Id love to have a 20/20 +5 nrg +1DM shadow staff. *dreams on* Again, it depends on what type of minions you use.

I use a 20/20 wand and a 20/20 cesta that way i have 40 faster recharge and 40 faster cast. I also use this because I fell that +1 to minions rly isnt all that great, it happens 1/5 times and the mjinions are not so amazingly awsome compared to other minons that you have to have them. Also bortacs and ghials are somewhat expensive and my set cost me 5k(price necessary to craft the 20/20 wand).

Either are perfectly fine. The differences between then are really quite negligible. If this was PvP, I could understand nit picking, but as long as you have the 20/20 recharge, +1 death magic 20% and some extra energy, you should be gravy.
