Listening to a noobcaller is like having a one-way conversation. Much like listening to talkback radio. Some guy can spew out retarded comments for the entire duration... too bad the radio doesn't have an ignore button... only an "off" switch.

It is possible to be caught up in something, or have a brain lapse to the point that you were unable to set the right skills.

Guild Wars is a game. If at any point it starts interfering with real life, I turn off the computer and walk away for a certain amount of time. Phone rings, I answer it. Pizza arrives, I head to the door. Roommates or friends want to go do something, I leave. Regardless of where I'm at, or how long I've been at it.
Sure, for your example, one should have better prior planning to remember that they do in fact need to go to bed at a certain time for the next mornings activities, but we all know how time flies faster than we perceive it when we're having fun.
