My keyboard buttons have gone a bit funny recently. For example 'shift + 2' is '@' and not speach marks.

Oh and its a laptop so it has the Fn buttons aswell.

Are you saying that "shift+2" actually enters an @ instead of switching tabs?

I'm not an expert, but have you tried hitting the "Restore Defaults" button in the control section of the options menu?

Make sure you have UK English selected in Windows: Control Panel>Regional and Language Options.
