So I found myself playing around with gwBBcode and ended up making an Urgoz build as it hit me that spikes would be very effective due to the number of spikers you can afford to carry in elite missions. Its designed to be able to go through as fast as possible, killing quickly, with little prep/down time. Unfortunately it glitched and seems to refuse to display my build, now. (looked fine in preview)

It uses OG and other blood spikes primarily, with supporting damage coming from SS, Desecrate/Defile, Discord, Icy Veins, Stoning/OFlame, EoE, and Putrid Explosion. Spikes are more or less immune to Cry of Frustration through Mantra of Resolve, and energy supply is constant.



Blood Spiker 1 & 2:
Oppressive Gaze, Vampiric Swarm, Vampiric Gaze, Dark Pact, Ether Feast, Blood Is Power, Drain Enchantment, Mantra of Resolve

Blood Spiker 3:
Oppressive Gaze, Vampiric Swarm, Vampiric Gaze, Dark Pact, Blood Ritual, Icy Veins, Drain Enchantment, Mantra of Resolve

Blood Spiker 4:
Oppressive Gaze, Vampiric Swarm, Vampiric Gaze, Dark Pact, Blood Ritual, Expel Hexes, Drain Enchantment, Mantra of Resolve

SS 1:
Enfeebling Blood, Arcane Echo, Spiteful Spirit, Reckless Haste, Desecrate Enchantments, Defile Enchantments, Defile Flesh, MoR

NOTE: Level 28 non-boss casters have 640 health and 84 armor, base.

Suggestions are welcome, and I can clarify the strategy if need be... I am looking to revise it a bit, then run it. Lets say, tomorow at 9PM CST? I have TS/Vent and can take you to Urgoz if youve been previously.

I dont think this can work, if works its going to be very slow...

Why? because necro spikes take targets one by one, and in elite misions there are big mobs of enemies, and they deal a LOT of dmg to a soft target like necros. Thats my opinion...

It is used to drop several foes at the start of the fight. Many others have been harmed due to SS and Rotting Flesh. Each time you kill a target, you get Icy Veins + Putrid Explosion + EoE damage, which is a bit over 200. Using Rising Bile lets you get as much as 330ish, just to the 'survivors' of the spike - who are facing the fast recharge of OG, and the fact that Dark Pact/Vamp Gaze is always ready.

Necromancers (can/should) have (at least) 75 armor vs the most damaging non-elemental form out there, piercing. They also have Ward Against Elements to help mitigate the aoe dot damage from the wardens (84 elemental AL). The rit lord + oath shot neutralize the threat Thorn Wolves pose entirely. There are two dedicated monks, two support 'monks', a character capable of spamming dust trap, a ritual lord+recuperation, AND two BiP's... AND most of the spikers have self heals! Plenty of defense.

Even if you have to resort to spiking one by one, for some reason, Dark Pact+Vamp Gaze+Dark Pact will drop a foe, no questions asked. Energy wont be a problem and with fast recharging nukes, you will end up killing targets much quicker then with trappers (as there is no minute long prep time).

Within seconds of engaging the enemy you are ready to OG spike a group... and while it is true that the speed dies down significantly if they are not grouped together, killing one foe every 5 seconds, a reasonable rate for 7 PVE necro spikers, results in 12 foes killed a minute. And wouldnt you rather spend the time a PUG would be trapping... killing things?
