PvE Event?

Nightfall had a PvP and a PvE event, so are we gonna get a PvE for nightfall too?

I think you meant Factions ahd a PvE and PvP event... not nightfall...

Anyhow it is highly likely we will get a PvE event that samples a small portion of the content.

gaile already siad that we will have a pve nightfall event during one of her talk things and usually when someone official isn't sure about something, they say things like "probably" and "it would be nice" and other similar things. I'm pretty confident there will be one. I just have no clue when....

The prerelease pack will come out Sept. 15th and I would guess that the PvE event will come 1-2 weeks after it. Since the prerelease pack comes with a bonus "Nightfall character slot" it may very well be that this "Nightfall slot" will be usable during the PvE event, so ppl without any free slots can try Nightfall out that way.

This of course would be good marketing, so it's probably true, or close to true. So a week or two after Sept 15th would be about a month before the full release so again it would be nice timing.

I don't have proof, but I seem to remember reading somewhere on guru that the PVE event will be September 22-24. I'm sure someone can back me up on that.

That makes sence, and I'm pretty sure that is what they would do. Think of all the people that have all their slots filled with pve chars that they don't want to delete for a event.....

Was it posted by official Arena Net staff, such as gaile or someone like that? And if so, did they say that they are 100% sure that is when the event will be? If it is a no to either one of those, then it isn't "official", so don't get your hopes up.

Gaile said there will be a PvE event (in her usual fuzzy words, in order not to promise anything), without specifiying a date.

According to German magazine Gamestar, who were granted an exclusive preview by ANet, the PvE even is scheduled for September 22-24, but ANet have not confirmed (or denied) this.

If there is a PvE event, I'm not going to play. The Factions PvE event was waaaay too big, I could explore pretty much the entire map, and that just sapped the fun out of exploring when I got the full game.

Yeah, I believe that it was quoted from some German magazine that it was Sep 22-24. Anet hasn't officially confirmed it, but it is the time frame you'd expect it to happen and is highly likely.

:P You'll just have to resist the tempation to explore the full spectrum. I myself was too busy trying out those silly ABs and PvP cheese to explore too much of the place. This time around I'll prolly spend so much time standing in town trying to tweak and test my NPC Hero that I again won't have much time to explore the full area

I don't have to see a large portion of the map. Not at all. At the end of the day it's just different scenery, i.e. eye candy. What I'm much more interested in is the new features and game mechanics. Most of all the heroes. And a preview of the "template" build saving. And other features that are not yet officially announced. <lowers voice> Like ... "trade improvements". </lowers voice> To test such features I need only a very smal portion of the map. Give me just one outpost (with the beforementioned features functional), one explorable area and one mission, and I'll be happy.

I don't remember, so in complete fairness, I'd have to say no to both. If I could remember any more details, I'd have included those. I did look through the dev forum last night, and did not come up with anything there, so I'm leaning towards the info coming from an online game mag article, as mentioned by Tetris and Knightsaber.

I remember the Factions PvE event and how much fun it was. Getting killed by the Dragons at the end was the best. Jade quarries and Fort Aspenwood was always full and we had 12v12 random AB arena's.

Now that I have played through Factions I would have prefered it if they had only allowed us on Shing Jea Island for a PvE event and not the Mainland for the Kurzack and Luxan area's.

So if I have a request its for anet TO KEEP US ON THE ISLAND and not send us out into the final area's of the game.
