which one

im using my warrior and i dont know to use axe or a sword. some people said that swords hit more but its 11-22[they said something about 18.5dph] and a axe[17dph] and some people said that axe is stronger im confused can someone help me set this straight plz

sword max is 15-22, whereas axe is 6-28.

both have their advantages in different situations.

Without any modifiers on the weapons, 12 weapon mastery and not counting criticals, axes have 17 dph and swords have 18.5 dph. However, axes have greater critical hits than swords, and when you toss in 16 weapon master and the 15% and 20% damage modifiers, axes have about 35.5 dph and swords 34 dph. Also, hammers have 51 dph. The choice between weapons falls to what you want to do with them, though.

No need to choose one, get skills, weapons and helms for each and use them as best fits the situation, build, mission or whatever. All 3 weapons can be fun.

Finally got round to having a hammer build and it is great but being able to swap to any helps with missions/farming. I wouldnt buy helms to swap out though get strength helm and tactics helm rune them up respectively with strength/tactics then get gloves for weapons again with respective runes. You may not get as higher lvl in weaponry (att lvl) but allows you to use the fantastic stonfists for hammer. Thats how I run my build anyway someone will probably point out the flaws in this soon :P

Swords have higher DPS, but Axes have a better crit chance, so Axes do come up top in terms of damage with enough Mastery. However, Swords are great without an elite, but Axes usually use an Elite, so Sword in a way is better.

I find a sword works nicer foe sever artery to gash. The bleed time seems to make up any lower damage ratio.

Swords have a more constant and probable higher dps. Axe's also have a high dps with the chance that you land critical hit which will be higher then a swords critical hit. Also axe has higher damage skills as you raise your weapon mastery. Sword doesnt need a elite skill to be any good where as axe does but the axe elites are well worth the elite skill slot's, Eviscerate need i say more.

Swords are better if you want to spread a lot of conditions, but axes with the right build does higher spike dmg.
