Double-Fun Weekend Coming!

It's time for... the Creature Double Feature! (That should date me right there...)

All monsters have double the health end energy and double the drops. heh heh

Have to admit... the double scroll thing doesn't excite me too much. On the other hand, it doesn't bother or upset me in any way whatsoever.

Weird thing to base a double fun weekend on. I guess they ran out of ideas.

I'm usually all for these weekend events, but this feels more like a non-event to me. I guess because I don't power-level and never have. Double scroll drops? Anytime I get a scroll I sell it, so I guess I've got a chance to make some gold...if I even play this weekend. Getting a little burned out TBH.

i still think this is a great idea, time to earn-up your skill points, and unlock skills
do heavy trolls farming
do heavy shirokin farming
do heavy 3-4 man fow farming
do heavy Pongmei farming

*yawn* um yay. I can think of better ideas I'd rather have implemented. For instance...

- Double MONSTER SIZE.... can you imagine fighting kuunavang or glint?
- Double dye drop..... let's get those black dye prices down
- PVE balth faction.... killing pve monsters gives you balth faction
- Extended PVP.... 12v12 or 16v16 in all pvp arenas
- Royal Rumble.... modified PVP arena where it's every man/woman for himself/herself
- Special event arenas revisited.... bring back dodgeball and the snowball fight arenas

I like your ideas better than double scroll drops. Maybe you should send your resume to Anet.

-double dye drop REALY good idea, since i dont see many dye drops in Factions
-PvE balth faction, no so good idea
-extended PvP, VERY BAD idea will make games laggy + increase time in forming teams
- royal rumble, dont get what you saying
- Special arenas, again good idea

Nah, I don't think the designers ran out of idea, I think they're aiming for a variety of these fun events, so that they can reach out to a large number of players. For while this might not appeal to the player who has all Level 20's, it's really nice for the newer player, or the person who just purchased a character slot who wants to raise it more rapidly.

While I'm here, I think I'll make a thread asking for ideas for these sorts of mini-events. I hope you'll post there!

There were 7 scroll drops (6 being gold) in one mission on Monday (or Tuesday), so there may be a bug already increasing the drop rates. :\

So who going out this weekend to get those double xp scrolls?

I don't need this event but non lvl 20 find it quite useful. It is still better than no event at all.

I plan on using the existing scrolls that I have and turning in some commendations and such for them, but not to hunt for the drops. During the double gold from chests weekend (after they supposedly fixed the bug), we started out farming a bit to get the "increased key drops" and got a grand total of 0.

Quite right! Getting Advanced Skill Hunter left me with 1 skill point remaining. Now, sure, I'm back up to 39 SP now, but I'm gonna need more than that soon!

Nightfall is just around the corner...

Bot farmers. Lazy power levellers. Bot farmers trying to power level so they can batter bot farm.

The only non shady group I can think of that would benefit from this is the small handful of people trying to get as high a survivor title as they can before the weekend is over.

If I get any scroll drops, they're going straight to the merch.

Oh.... ummm.... gee.... More XP and more chances to get a scroll.... So who is this event targeting??? New players who hate the amount of XP given by quests, or the new batch of gold farming bots that Anet wants to identify and ban???? /yawn I'd rather paint my house and watch the paint dry. The double fun in that is watching the paint dry + inhaling the fumes
