The Nightfall Bonus Pack extra slot...

So they say if I preorder Nightfall, I get some cool items, some info, and a charcter slot. Now I was wondering, is this actually an extra character slot? Or is it one of the two included with Nightfall at release (I'm assuming Nightfall gives an additional 2 character slots like Factions did).

So will it in the end be a third character slot?
Is it one of two and we just get it early?
Or is it just one that only preorderers get, and there will not be anything else for release/non preorderers?

it is a third character slot when added to an existing account and after release for those wondering

It's a third slot. Keep in mind it doesn't get applied to your account until you add your Nightfall retail key.

has this been confirmed by anet though?? it seems to me that if they are planning a pve weekend beta like with factions, the slot would be made available prior to the addition of the Nightfall Cd-key.

NO YOU DONT GET IT FOR PREORDERING NIGHTFALL.

THAT ONLY RESERVES YOU A COPY OF THE GAME

TO GET THE SLOT AND GOODIES YOU NEED TO BUY THE SEPARATE PRERELEASE RETAIL PACKAGE DUE OUT SEPT 15.

IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH PREORDERING THE GAME AND IS A SEPARATE PURCHASE

Alex did indeed confirm no bonus slot for the pve preview, it's in the Nightfall section somewhere. Don't feel like looking for a quote.

YES IT HAS OFFICIALLY BEEN CONFIRMED THAT THE SLOT WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR THE EVENT.

edit for quote, and also it makes no sense to give us a slot which we can't use for the beta weekend and for those of us :::many actually::: that have 6 full character slots and are not rich enough to buy a slot for the weekend preview miss out on trying out the new characters once again... thanks.

Summary:

- Buy the retail Nightfall Pre-order package
- Buy the actual Nightfall game (online, retail, standard, CE, whatever)
- End up with 3 character slots added to your existing account

the reason they will not do this is based on sadly proven history of players stupidity.

they might not buy the game and have a locked slot with all their expensive goodies still on it instead of taking them off before the end of the event.

on a Factions event there were many threats of lawsuits for trying to extort them into buying Factions just to get their goodies back.

they were reminded they were warned the account slots would be locked and they could get them back during the next event.

since this is the last event anybody locked out who didnt buy would be out of luck and the lawsuit threats would fly.

so that is why they wont and i dont blame them a bit
