Pre-ordering

I'm preparing to pre-order Nightfall, but I'm warier than I was with Factions. I never got the supposed gifts I was supposed to by pre-ordering; I'm not even sure how it was supposed to work. (Typing /preorder does nothing) Is this because Best Buy didn't support the preorder gifts or something? How can I preorder Nightfall to avoid this and get my gifts this time?

secondly the special items are in the special new PRERELEASE RETAIL PACKAGE (5 dollars everywhere it seems) and has nothing i repeat nothing to do with preordering the game which only i repeat only reserves you a copy of the game with no items included

if you go to amazon the prerelease can be bought separately

at Gamestop/EB it is a package deal for 5 dollars over the bare game and is called Nightfall with *starter kit*

Nightfall is 49.99
Nightfall with starter kit is 54.99

i forgot that the 5 dollars also gives you one extra slot at half the regular price as well

this slot will not be available until a Nightfall retail key is added and will not be available for the PVE special event later

It saddens me that we get two or three new threads every day about the prerelease pack....

who is willing to bet that someone will buy that RETAIL PRERELEASE BOX off the shelf and post here asking why they cant play Nightfall?

Correct, for the most part. It is up to each store as to how they will do the pre-release package (not called preorder anymore). Some are giving it free with a pre-order, some are refunding the $5 when you pick up the game, others are doing nothing. Now I don't know of any stores doing the first two, but there have been a few reports of them heppening. Check with your local stores to see what they are offering. Keep in mind that this pre-release pack includes a character slot, so in essense, you are saving $5 by buying it.
