I find that interaction between clients (chatting) is restricted because of the constant spam found within cities.
In my experience spam usually consists of players recruiting for guilds or buying & selling objects. Then, of course there are the players who spam for the sake of spamming. This quickly fills up the chat window, which makes dialogue difficult.
Two fixes that would solve various problems:
1. An auction house (or something) for buying & selling items. - This helps both buyer and seller as well as reducing spam.
2. A bulletin board (or something) for recruiting guild members and/or doing miscellaneous guild related tasks.
Well, one of the most obvious problems I've encountered.
Hope it helps,

Those have both been suggested before. Also, Anet has tried to lessen the amount of spam like "wts" automatically switching to the trade channel; the bottom line is no matter what they do even if they add an auction house there will always be spam. An auction house would really only get used for the high-end items; likely at the very least 50k+. The majority of all trades; the little junk ones; would still spam like crazy in outposts.

The Auction House is in development to my knowledge, but like Knightsaber Sith said, there will always be spam, even with the spam filter....
