Axes, to me, seem to be missing something...

Swords are great for focusing on one opponent and unleashing a high load of damage.

Dragon Slash{e}
Galrath Slash
Silverwing Slash
Final thrust
Standing Slash

These are all high-adrenaline high-damage attacks.

What do axes have to compare?

Executioner's Strike
Eviscerate {e}

Yes, axes have cleave, penatrating chop, penatrating blow and whirling axe... but these are all low-adrenal medium-low damage attacks. IMO, not as effective as high-adrenal high-damage attacks.

So, if axes are not as good for dealing high-damage attacks on a single target, they would have AoE damage right? Useful in PvE....

Tripple Chop {e}
Cyclone Axe

Yes, tripple chop us an amazing attack, but with 10 recharge it's not very spamable... Cyclone axe is good, but not so amazing.

It just seems to me that axes should either have more high-adrenal high-damage attacks, or more AoE attacks. One or the other... I'm not saying this just from looking at the skills, I'm saying this after playing an axe warrior to 2m experience, and noticing how much nicer a sword can be at times...

Swords already have reposites, and cheap bleeding and deepwound...

They also have high-damage attacks.

In place of reposites, axes have AoE attacks, however they lack the high-damage skills swords have.

I believe this is why swords are more popular than axes. (If you disagree just look at difference in price between sword and axe mods, GG)

I really hope Nightfall improves on axe attacks.

You really don't have a clue huh?

Tell me, did you ever play axe warror in GvG?

Try observing som high-end GvGs, you'll see that 80% warriors in GvG are axe warriors with Evis[E], Penaltrating and Executioner.

Did you ever farm? Ever heard of troll farming? Vermin farming?
Cyclone axe is awesome, totally awesome for farming. Tripple chop is also very nice damage.

The best damage skill in the game is, in fact, an axe skill. Try Eviserate.. It does 70-100 + deep wound to a soft target. Total life is 530(sup vigor).

530-100=430
and
430-20% = 344.

530-344=186 damage.

186/530 * 100 = 35.1% damage og total health from one attack skill.

Now tell me how Axe attacks aren't good.

Your price argument is flawed, because it's pricing for PvE characters, and in PvE, swords are more used, because they don't require as much energy to be used. That fits nice with the whammo with mending.
