last night few of my alliance'es helped me to think of a mesmer chest running build, i was just testing various ways. the most i liked is Me/W. i tested in raisu palace, and it did worked fine

I ran with this build in Raisu Palace, didnt died anytime, besides 1s when i got lagged and i died

Heh, pre-factions forgerunning was a little more hassle :P (My old Charge! build <3, inferior to Luke's but still fun.)

Some builds I use (stats: 13 illu, 12 tac, no super runes)

Charge
Sprint
Hex breaker
Inspired Hex
Revealed Hex
Distortion
Balanced Stance
Healing Signet

^For Kurzick areas, which have many hexes from mantis. In group runs, I drop Revealed for Res sig. In Raisu Palance, I tend to drop Balanced for Shields Up and Breaker for Defensive stance/deflect arrows. I tend not to use Illusion of Weakness as many areas have Shatters, however Revealed can easily be subbed out for it if you find it necessary.

Alternatively, Me/A runner (13 illu, 12 Shadow)

Shadow Form
Arcane Echo
Arcane Mimicry (if dual me/a running), otherwise pick something
Death's Charge
Dark Escape
Dash
Illu of Weakness (if SF drops in a bad place, Dark Escape + this will often get you quick health)
Shadow Refuge

Slower as it can't run constantly, but indestructable over short distances (areas with powerful packs, such as Drazach).
