Also note that there are alot of people playing the game and do not post on this forum. Even thought there are quite alot of crystalline sword sellers, I don't think it's safe to say that the sword itself became less rare. Don't forget the PvP weekends we've had lately - alot of people have been PvP-ing more intensly, and I guess more HoH as well...
(as for the people having a crystalline sword - I have 1 as well, it's gold but... NOT MAX DAMAGE :'o) (I don't know how to post pics but you can PM me ingame and I'll show you the sword ;D)

a. it is a known fact that weapon req does not effect damage output so long as the req is met and
b. any warrior with less than 14 (bare minimum) in weapon mastery is a completely useless scrub/tank therefore req is a non issue with warrior weapons.

I indeed saw a req.7 chaos axe, and for all those proof seekers I can't provide it right now. I wish I woulda taken the pic though. I still have the guys ign, but he is very private and does go on very much at all.

no, the double drop rate would have effect all weaponary including the HoH chest and purple crystallines

It's just KamikazeChicken trying to boost his e-peen by assuming join date = experience at the game. Crystallines aren't worth anything any more, as there's at least 10-15 at one time selling in the High End section. That and they look dodgy...

ppl are just selling stocks before nightfall...those are the poor ppl who keep uncustomized weapons in the inventory... or are really fighting wiht uncustomized weapons so they can sell the someday... poor poor souls...

Well for those who where in the early betas of Guild Wars may remeber when you played, not many item icons where made(you saw alot of that guy in his construction hat), the pre-searing npc guards all had longswords with the crystalline skin... all longsword drops I remeber was with the crystalline sword... those images I dont have /sigh only in my mind...
For me this is why I got a Crystalline Sword(16 months ago), somthing that reminds me of the old days...
some days ago some guy said my crystalline was some sort of fad maybe thats why we see them around alot... who knows.
as for rarity, a friend got one in a SF chest from stoneskin recently...

They may not fetch the amounts they used to back in the day, but nor does anything else. It's all relative. So the amounts they sell for are still massive in comparison.
And KamikazeChicken, I can understand that it's frustrating if you have indeed seen a cry come from Shiverpeaks and no one believes you.. but would you believe me If I told you I had seen a req7 gold chaos axe drop, or a Fellblade from a chest in UW if I had no proof?
And join date has nothing to do with anything. I've been here a very short amount of time and I find myself having to give advice to seasoned players. I believe we're all still learning here to a degree. I thought that was what this community was for.. Pooling our resources, and not as it seems to be, a scrimmage arena for petty egos.

saw atleast 3 req8 crytalline 15^50 in game, too many other high req 15^50 and 14^50 that i couldn't really remember. Crytalline do drop from the nerfed non-key chests in shiverpeak i think, i have gotten 1 white non-max crytalline and one max white serpent axe from the chest outside of THK before. Never seen one drop from monsters tho. Crytalline stilll sell for something in GW. but imao it will probably drop below 1 million someday. as the number of pvers keep going down and pvp players dont really care about items. I personally hope that they make green crytalline in nightfall, so we can all have one or make them drop in Elona. Items dont really matter too much in GW since they are all pretty much the same thing. what make us the pros different than the others are our knowledge about the game not the items imao. I have been playing with some very professional gamers and the way they played this game without a large amount of money and godly items. I remember one day a guildie of mine who is a noob in the eyes of some rich traders in our forum complete hell's and raisu palace(mastering it as well) with henchies, She doesn't even have max damage items. while alot of us need to hire ppl in LBS to complete it for us. it really change the way i play the game. maybe items really dont matter alot in GW, it is skills that matter.
Have been playing with some of the rich traders from thsi forum and their performance in pvp and pve really dissapointed me. Skins dont really differ us from the majority of casualists<noobs in English> I think it is the knowledge we learn from this forum that differ us from them.

That was a headache to read ;p
There are many ways to play this game. Some people are traders, some are mercenaries, others are gladiators... that's the beauty of mmorpgs such as GWs.
Also, your point is a little redundant... the game is obviously set up so that you don't need to get the most expensive weapons in the game to be on a level playing field. There are plenty of common golds, Green and collecters items out there to make sure that everyone is on a level playing field.

Actually i got targetted first sooooooo many times because my fissure armors and dwarven axe. The common pvp armors do have an advantage over expensive 15k or fissure armors which is that we all look the same so you dont know which one is which. And my point is that traders are not necessary in GW since we dont need any items. Anything will do in PVE really. I know tons of good pvers who dont even have max damage items and armors and they do just fine. Any items will be fine in pve setting as long as not too crappy ex starter's sword. for PvP, we can just create a pvp char with exactly w/e what want.

As I said before: there are many ways to play this game. A lot are not necessary to the core of the gameplay, but without them the the GWs world would be a hell of a lot less colourful.
