Guild Wars is not Evolving.......because

I've been playing GW for some time now, since it started actually so I think some of my points that I am going to suggest are valid, but then again it's just my opinion so take it how you want



Things that GW needs to change...PS and these aren't in any particular order of merit...

1. MORE WEAPONS...what does it take to has out more armor, more weapons, more of everything...I never understood this..

2. Not being able to ride any dragons, griffons, or anything for that matter, you figured by now you would be able to atleast ride horses or drakes but nooooooooo....this really ticks me off

3. Not being able to slide down a 2 foot cliff to get on the road, what is it with these invisible force fields in GW, its just down right pathetic...

4. Not being able to see anyone but your team outside of the cities....if GW is worried that too many people will beat the mission then just make it harder and put more baddies out there, this really frustrates me also...

5. NOT being able to walk into a tavern, house, castle or anything for that matter...man this really sucks....you can't sit down have some ale and trade or just shoot the bull, this is really stupid.....

6. just being human is sooooo boring...what happened to elves, dwarves, halflings, or other races

7. Not being able to change your hair, can't cut it, can't grow it, cant change the color of your eyes, or skin can't get bigger, this is just plain bland AN

well after 1 year these are the things that I see that keep me from playing GW, I will buy nightfall just to have the collection but if you look at it everytime GW puts out an expansion it seems too me like the game is not progressing just getting bigger and thats not always the best thing for a game....let me know what you guys think out

Everything you have stated, except maybe for buildings and weapons is entirely not valid. mounts would entirely negate enemies as you could simply gallop past them, the one goup one world is also good, as it stops lag, stops queing, stops item stealing, and makes the game more 'your the only hero that can save Tyria/Cantha', it makes it more fun, and is also the basis of GW PvE. The aesthetic changes would be hard to do, IMO, as you would have to introduce a bunch of code to allow players to do it, and then add in the vendors. Other races? This is no evovling the game, just adding more, whihc you said you dont want done. The walls? Well how big do you want a game to be? This is also a more factor which again you dont want added. I'd like to see new skins, whihc we will defiently get in Nightfall, we might just get an auction house aswell. You have just made a list for the 'more' stuff which you say you do not want. Gmae Mechanics have changed, with AB's and the new faction points for PvE and PvP. And bear in mind, we are just awaiting the release of the second addition to the GW universe, I can assure you, more is yet to come.

And I would suggest not posting such an inflammatory post as one of your first. And yeah, WoW is a good choice of games if you want to ride a horse, step down mounds and go into buildings, or of course there is real life.

everything is pretty much pvp any way. I say just let the pvp players have the their game. bio- ware is coming out with better content for pve.

When more pve and rgp players leave this game for other games. That is when anet want their players back and chances are want them back. So if the game get boring who cares, there will be other games.

i think pvp players will be the one that suffer when end paying for more stuff in the store to maintain this game.

i like the idea of say a castle or haunted castle where people can hang out and maybe ghosts attack random people. would be kinda kwl and different. or have a castle where people have to fight through and after that you can hang out there.

Two posts have already pointed the OP in the direction of WoW, and there's also a post explaning the impracticality of the OPs requests for GW to change all of it's dynamics. Those are the only two things the OP really needs to hear.

We have plenty of weapons. There are a ton of skins out there. You get too much and people start really losing interest. I personally think there are way too many greens now since factions came out. We probably need less weapon skins, not more. Armor amount is just fine. More more more is a greedy child's cry.
We can map warp, who needs mounts. This isn't that type of game.
Again, just not that type of game. The invisible walls are just errors in the mapping. If you notice, most of the type you are running into them, it is because there is terrain there that matches up. If you find one that doesn't it is a bug.
Don't know what to tell you. I like the instantiated missions. I don't want to see all the jerks from town everywhere I go.
They have these really cool things called towns in this game...

Agree. I would like to be able to change hair, hair color. I think that is where the line should be drawn. If they offered the ability it should be limited to what you could really do given the time and theme. Sure you could have plastic surgery, but that's not really right for the time of guild wars.


You seem to be wanting to play WoW. You might find it a better fit for you than guild wars. Accept that this game isn't like the others, then you are faced with an easy decision. Which do I like better?

only idea i liked was the part to have taverns/bars? that whould kinda be cool small minigames in town ''maybe''?

and besides whats wrong whith just being a human every other rpg has monsters and such crap you can be, atleast GW breaks tht evil circel..

1. There are plenty of weapon skins; just added a couple more to Cantha a few weeks back.

2. Mounts have no place in GW. With instant map travel and zone maps designed for walking through; they would be impracticle and would make any quest very cramped.

3. It's not pathetic at all; it's just not that kind of game, this isn't Tombraider.

4. Instanced maps are great so there is no spawn camping or anything.

5. Whining about not going in buildings.... that is really stupid.

6. The prevelance of humans gives GW a slightly more realistic feel opposed to all the stereotypical orcs and elves and what not.

7. There's nothing bland about not being able to change your appearance, just put more thought into creating your character.

Not to sound cliche; but you sound like another WoW fanboy dork. They do progress and add new game mechanics every expansion but they can't totally revamp the whole game engine every six months.

Lets make GW into WOW(Which is actualy EQ=P) but with nicer looking char(actualy I kind of like nightelf myself) and no monthly fee??

Someone mentioned mini-games. As far as adding new features that aren't just improvements or updates, I've always liked the idea of being able to play a game of chess or shogi...or Stratego even :P with someone else online. I want to get better at chess but can never find anyone that wants to play it.
