Chaos Axe shadow bugged

Did someone ever notice this, if you dont ill describe it
the shadow of the axe doesnt resemble the shape of the axe is actually looks like you are wielding well.....spongebob squarepant.

I was experimenting a little bit with dying my chaos axe and noticed dying with a mix of yellow+red and orange("yes i did some funky mixing" and "yes I know there may be other mixes that have the same effect")
actually allows you too see the chaos axe is in fact a square shaped axe

I just wanted to note this as I really like the skin and hope anet could fix the shadow(anet employees visit the site regulary so i hope they see this)^^

I have to admit, this post made me laugh a little with the vizual imagry of a warrior bashing a Titan over the head with one of my kids' favorite cartoon characters...

Yes the shadow looks like that. The Alpha effect only works on the actual axe, not the shadow. .-.

Same thing for the Stormbow.

i hate it. IMO the coolest axe in the game and the shadow SUX

It's not a bug, its a feature. Kind of like all the unique names with repeat weapon skins.

Looks like her shadow is yelling "I'm wielding a Giantslaying Rolling Pin of Defense!" and "I'm using Heavy Blow on Aatxe!"

Storm Bows get the same thing, because the alpha effects of the lightning don't carry through to shadows, it looks like you are carrying a Canoe.

Yeah, that's the reason I hate chaos axes. At first I thought it was my vid card, but later learned everyone suffered from this design oversight.

Yeah, a company is lazy for not fixing an insignificant little shadow bug. I mean, it's not like they are staggering 2 game releases per year, upkeeping datacenters for an Online RPG, running tournaments... oh, wait, they are.

Wow never noticed that, I play with shadows off. Anyway, I think the little icon of the shadow axe is screwed up as well, the colour and the axe itself looks rather blurry and dull when dyed compared tothe default where the icon is crystal clear.

If that's the case, ANET is becoming more like Microsoft. *shivers*

It's a technical issue. It's hard to make transparent objects to cast correct shadows. Even more if you want the game to scale on same HW as GW does.
The middle/low-end cards simply can't handle this fast enough.

I've always hated the look of chaos axes. They look like the heat axes from Shining Force, without the handles. If they had handles, they wouldn't look so bad. But as far as it stands now, it's like holding a lightsaber by the blade. Looks stupid.

why ppl use chaos axe's is beyond me...they have no detail and look like they took all of 2 secs to design..ive had a few chaos axe's thru drops ect and i never noticed any square shadow..this only happen on low end spec comps?

@Doc..sorry but chaos axe+mending is the leet noob combo...my new guildies use mending i didnt stop laughing for half an hour..one of them is lvl20and doesnt even own a max dmg sword

a guy i know in game has an chaos axe which u can see the framework of it.

must only happen on low spec comps then
