PvP RA/TA Monk, need advice

I run a Monk in RA for sometime now, but there really is one thing I dont get.

I know everyone goes after the monk, but is it normal for the monk to just run around for the next 2 minute by herself? or does that just mean the team suck?

Also a thing I'd like to know is what you guys do about Assasins? I have seen suggestions about Guardian, but honestly I dont like it, I'm using a Distortion Build (5 in Illusion) so when a sin come next to me i just hit distort and run.

Any ideas?

In RA, expect to tank the entire enemy offence while the rest of your team pounds on the Monk. Don't expect anybody to help you out, because yes, your team will most likely suck.

And Assassins? Outheal their damage, remove Deep Wound and kite.

Five in illusion is a waste, 4 is the breakpoint for -3 and 8 is the breakpoint for -2. Anywhere between there is a waste. Distortions nice in an organised setting but it makes you a little too vulnerable in 4v4 with no backup healing for my liking.

I really would suggest getting to like Guardian, it's a fantastic skill.

my guardian offers 46% chance of dodging, and i have to cast it once i see an assasin pop up to me(it last 5 seconds), this usualy means I get knocked down or one of the strikes hits me at least.. which is rather trouble some

yeah I sometimes have trouble.. I mean I run around for more than 5 mintues atnking all 4 of the opposite team and my team is just not kiling anyone, if the opposite team also have a monk its less of a problem becasue most of the times I outlast them, but with most teams I get in RA they just run off on their own little fights, like 2 Wars wacking a single target while 2 of the oppositions are chasing me.. I run through my team a million times no one even care -.-

Also, I think I will lower the Illusion magic down 1, i left it there because there is nothing else I need to spend it on.

Some secondary professions offer better defences mesmer can. Try warrior stances, assasin return, dash, elementalist "armor" enchantments. They are very efficient skills when your team does nothing to protect you.
