When checking out the Taiwan GW site vs the US site I noticed several areas which beats the us site hands down.
Download Matches (Championship)
Taiwan - http://guildwars.nctaiwan.com/download/globeMovie.asp
Us - None
Skills
Taiwan (In a searchable database form with full skill information) - http://guildwars.nctaiwan.com/gameInfo/skill/list.asp
US (Name, Desc only)- http://www.guildwars.com/gameplay/skills/listing/
Game Guide
Taiwan -http://guildwars.nctaiwan.com/gameInfo/intro.asp
(Has builds, how to complete missions, quests)
US - None
I'm not saying our site is bad, in fact the overhaul they done was a very nice. But the GW Taiwan site just blows ours away in use of flash, design as well as content.
GW Taiwan site better then US web site IMHO

I don't know about design, but the content is +1.

You really can't complain about how Anet/NC Soft is allocating their resources, when you look at the game sales for that region. The same issue was brought up about the Korean site, and game sales/internet connections were brought up as the main reasoning (from players. I don't remember Gaile or Alex commenting on it.).
They're trying to increase sales in regions where the market is sluggish for GW. They wouldn't really gain anything by adding more to the US/Europe sites because they've already got a solid foundation for their sales.
Oh, no! Anet/NC Soft is being a rational business! o.O Yes, we'd all like a little more attention (Proph pre-order items, site, you name it), but it's only natural for them to do what's best financially.

Wasn't aware of the Korean issue before.
What made me think of this, was when I messed around in Games Workshop / War hammer 40k mintautures and how they had different offices around the world and each did there own web site. The US/UK were almost identical (functional ok, not too bad overall) but Italy layout and graphic use was mind blowing where Japan (new market).. was bare bones at best.
I also notice it had the login system that screamed the asian pay to play model anet has over there for use with GW.

I think it's because we have a large fanbase with sites ( gwg, wiki, etc. ), so we don't need that much info on our site.
Taiwan just started, so they added it to their site to help out the players.

It's the same with WoW, I think they might put more emphasis on game websites there, I suspect it could be because the competition is much harder there
I mean it seems like there's 1,000 online games that I never heard of in Taiwan.
