The Shard and Amber prices will certainly drop. Probably dropping right now.

I certainly hope that if ANET doubles the Alliance Battle faction that they realize more people will be playing. I hope ANET at least doubles the number of simultaneous games, or else you will be waiting 30 minutes or more a game.

I was hoping for something like this about a month ago..I've got all the Kurzick armor I could ever need..

Although since it looks like HA has been dropping off a little in activity as of late maybe I'll try some AB again. I doubt Ill be able to get into a game..ever though.

I thought waiting was caused by lack of opponent (or allied teams). When it was next to impossible to get Kurzick games I played as a guest for Luxon and the wait was around 5 seconds. There are far more Kurzicks than Luxons.

They need to double the faction cap from 10k to 20k, otherwise you might have to "cash out" after only 4 games and break up your group.

I hope our hosts prepare for the massive influx of players wanting to do AB's, otherwise there will be way too many "No opposing party joined. Reseting countdown timer." notices and it will take twice as long to get the double faction! (Ironic, isn't it? )

...They already said it also applies to kills. No word on whether the bonus you get at the end of the round if you lose will be affected, but I suspect that's an oversight/poor wording.

In other news, I think I'll swap over to Luxonville for the weekend. My "alliance" consists of myself and my one-man vanity guild, and I've got all the 15K Kurzick I need in the immediate future. So why wait for games when I could be guaranteed instant access on the underpopulated side?

Wow, we saw those amber and jade drop to 400 or less a pop during competitive weekend with FA/JQ... Now it only got back up closer to the old meta, they bring this one... Sell all your jade amber now! Before they get really really REALLY cheap by the end of this weekend.

Anet, please move (or copy) the faction rewards and scribe NPCs to the AB outposts for this weekend!

why on earth are people about complaining about the priceing of these rare materials... jadite/amber for a long time now has been dirt cheap and i don't think that 300 gold is going to make the diffrance.
bring back the 2k price of amber/jadeite if you really want to condsider what is at best a terrible form of pvp as an alternative soulution to farming, lobby A-net to have a place where you can sell your amber for ridculess amounts of money.

Things will go as they have for weeks with minor fluctuations.

Things that will fluctuate:
-The Maps will swing end to end, back and forth, faster.
-Jade and Amber will crash in price during the weekend.
-Resellers will buy cheap Jade and Amber
-Resellers will make a fortune when prices rise again.
-Life is good.

The good news is that once Nightfall is released, amber and jadeite prices will likely increase due to not as many people playing Factions. That is unless there is a use for amber and jadeite in Nightfall, which I highly doubt.

I guess what I'm saying is that with prices dropping, this weekend might be the right time to become a speculator.

One of the things I've never understood about AB is how ANet messed up the incentives.

I'm Luxon and when we push far into Kurzick territory I almost never AB. Know why?

1. The maps are tilted in the favor of the Kurzick the deeper into the ancestral lands you get. (Not complaining, this is how it should be. Kurzicks should fight harder and be harder to defeat on their home territory.)
2. The faction earned for winning is static, regardless of how far you push into the Kurzick territory.

What does this really mean? It means when Kurzick own a lot of Luxon territory I'll be found doing AB. It's incredibly easy to win (80% or higher success rate) and I can earn way more faction/hour that way.

So in effect the side that pushes deepest is penalized the most. If ANet wanted to fix this they would award AB faction in tiers.

1. Home turf: 1X Faction
2. Neutral: 1X Faction
3. Frontier: 2X Faction
4. Ancestral : 3X Faction
5. Capital: 4X Faction

That's incentive. Harder maps, but way more reward for winning.

Until they do that, I hope Kurzick push deep into my own territory. 15k faction/hour is easy to get at that point.
