so recently, ALOT of people have been flaming archer's signet {E} as the most useless elite due to the fact that for it to work better, you need more expertise, but with the more expertise you have the less you need to use it.

Well thats true, but in spamming certain skills any ranger with any amount of points in expertise runs outa energy.

So here is a build from guildwiki that works very well for this Elite:

http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/R/any_DUM_Ranger

Just putting it out here, because not enough people visit the GuildWiki often enough as it is...they wouldnt find it anywhere else

Still not worth the elite imo. That build has no preps and still isn't making use of the excess energy archer's signet is offering. As much as I wanna make use of archer's signet, that build still isn't as effective as other builds out there.

I'm pretty sure sooner or later it's going to have a good use.

This build is also as durable as a glass elephant balancing on a toothpick in side a tornado since it only has troll and kiting as damage mitigation

without a monk, or ritualist healer on your team your opinion would be 100% correct! ...assuming that opinions were ever "correct" to begin with, and also assuming that elephants could balance on toothpicks.

....now alligators are a whooole different story

With the energy vs regen ratio from such high expertise, the only attack AS would need to reduce energy cost is CS. Even then, CS is only 11 energy at 14 expertise. If you don't have AS on when you need to use CS, then it's tough luck, CS still needs to be used. I personally don't class this as a successful AS build, sorry.

Yeah this is still an useless build. It potentially saves you all the energy you need... but doesn't have any use for it. For a start boosting Expertise upto 14 is pointless.

To make any such use of Archers Signet it would need IAS. The one that springs to mind... Tigers Fury. The problem with this? To use Tigers Fury with Archers Signet you'd need high Expertise.... thus making Tigers Fury easily to afford... thus making Archers Signet more useless.

Its a never ending circle of this skill been the worst 1 the ranger has.

BY successful i meant it interupts mesmer, necros, and elementalist...and sometimes monks in RA and TA. I should have made that clear XD

And another good elite to fit in the spot would be Marksman's Wager. Except you'd have to stop and spend 2 seconds re-applying the prepartion.

AS only takes 1 second to cast, and can allow you to freely spam interupts. And since it only reduces cost of each attack (you can shoot normally between interupts freely), AS stays on when you need it to.

And if your saying that Famine or Equinox have and/or are wanted more than AS, just wow.

Maybe in the next chapters we will have non elite bow attacks that cost 25 nrj, then archer's sig will be useful. The guys at A net know that archer's sig is junk right now so at some point they'll make it better or make skills that go well with it.

In an interrupt build I'd much rather take Practiced Stance + seeking/choking. Or Punishing Shot. Or heck, even Incendiary Arrows.

As some others have stated, the only skill that really benefits from AS is Concussion Shot. Unfortunately, dazed isn't even worth the energy cost in most (all?) PvP. The moment you apply dazed to anybody that cares about it, it gets mended/RC'd off instantly.

You know what standard build really needs energy? Cripshot! But oh wait, that's an elite.

I'm not sure why you would want to fill so much of your skillbar with skills to buff your interupts when you could bring Broadhead Arrow instead of Concussion Shot and be able to keep a constant application of dazed for 10 less energy.

If spammable interupts is the desired outcome, I still thing Read the Winds with Punishing, Distracting, and Savage works just fine and allows for a greater defense. A running skill can be added to that build which is incredibly helpful in practical use since being in the right position at the right time is essential to pulling off a good interupt.

Broad Head Arrows dazed is to easily CoPed off (because its a skill, not spell) or just RCed off. And spending 25 energy (without reduction) every 25 seconds among the other skills is to costly.

But it should be moved to marksmanship....unless we are missing something, like why they moved Twisting Fangs into Critical Strike to prevent R/A from being too powerful.

If it was in marks' than it would be to easy for a war with, idk, high strength and heavy armor to use all kind of great bow attacks for 0 energy. This could work the same for assassins and the critical hit aspect.
