Well is it still worth the elite spot now after the update?

It's only a slight nerf... it'll prolly still remain popular in both the PvE and PvP scene... but i think ANet is just encouraging people to give other elites a try (though Dwarven Battle Stance remains unchanged... say wha?)

i dono but i have the feeling they want us to use Cleave more. *looks at the buff of dismember*
Its not bad but still Eviscerate is better. deep wound and damage in 1 skill is far better then just damage.

the reason why evicerate got so much love in pvp was the fact that you got the dmg plus the deep wound at the same time in one swing, add that to the fact that it doesnt show the loss from the deep wound on the bar until the next dmg is delt, follow it with a exe strike and it made one impressive spike that would hopefully over whelm the monks.

still, the cleave and dismember combo will get some more attention now...

In PvE triple Chop is a sweet skill. Mobs stay bunched up, and with the reduced adrenal cost of dismember, a nice combo to be had.

Nerfs are going to happen, you just gotta roll with the punches I guess.

You still get 2 for 1 with the skill and its still worth it in my book even with the dmg point loss.

lol, a friend of mine actually whispered me saying
WTF THEY NERFED MY AXE SPIKE BUILD

It was funny cuz all they did was take 9 dmg of it, but the main point is,Eviscerate still remains one of the best axe skills ever made for this game.

Wouldnt use it anywhere else really either then some vermin or trolls .

Thank goodness. Thought this was another stupid comparison thread between eviscerate and some other warrior elite. *Phew*

Yes, Eviserate is still a good skill. Us monks still fear the deep wound plus damage.

2. cleave outdmgs eviscerate now once deep wound is already down
3. whirling axe outdmgs all 2 if u spam it fast enough(well i think so)
4. go charge sword!
5. bulls charge anyone?
6. i love backbreaker!
7. yay for nightfall skills!
8. dwarven battle stance needs recharge lowered and 33% faster!

if the typical eviscerate,ex strike (before update), did 80 + DW + 80 = 160 + DW = 160 + (.2)(HP), figures 480 is base...160 + (.2)(480) = 160 + 96 = 256 damage
Atfter Update .... eviserate, ex strike .... Assuming same damage as above example......71 + DW + 80 = 151 + DW = 151 + (.2)(480) = 151 + 96 = 247
....ok so comparing 256 v. 247, 9 difference....only lost slightly more then 3% of the damage output, so this really is a minor nerf, still very useable

Forgot...as the before update damage increases...say to 100 with both evisverate + ex strike, the percentage of loss of damage is going to become even lower, until at a point where it is not even apparent, 9 damage in a 250 pt spike, nothing to worry about.

im looking at an executioners strike - critical chop - destructive chop as a new combo.. Destructive chop is a new elite with +53 damage, and critical chop is a half a sec attack

I figured the nerf would affect something like IWAY only, where 10 Eviscerates at once would be nerfed, while one or two Eviscerates does the same thing.

You forget they nerfed tigers/bestial fury too. So you strike slower and gain adren slower as well. Guess it doesn't matter really, only two reasons I'd use evis. In pvp, where the damage reduct isn't so bad and you can use frenzy as an attack speed buff, and farming bosses in pve, where there are far better builds for that anyway. More worried about the fury nerf, was the main reason I go w/r, unless I was running a pet or apply poison+throw dirt for ViM. Though melandrus resilience is pretty good in some cases.
Maybe I just need to look into more w/r stuff...

Thank goodness most of you still see Eviscerate as a good skill. It is so stupid how people think, JUST because they see their skill in an update which takes off a few points of damage raises the recharge by 2 seconds or some other tiny change, they immediately think the skill is tainted or something, and is never again viable for any build... ever.

The same way, if Anet increases a skill slightly, it suddenly becomes the best thing since sliced bread.

So yes, Eviscerate is still a super deadly axe attack.

Eviscerate is not nerfed at all, I think it needed a bit of a tone-down.

I'm not as much axe as the other two weapons anyway, so I don't really care too much.

I personally like using the axe with Whirling Axe + Dismember. Very few people use block against it in Alliance battles (which is like all the PvP I ever do with my guild ) so it can be pretty painful.
