Sorry, you can't download the patches as stand-alone files. The streaming updates/patches is one of the things that makes Guild Wars stand head and shoulders above other games.
Just log in and leave it sitting on your character selection screen. Shouldn't take too long on broadband. These day's 200MB is nothing, hell the Battlefield 2 1.4 patch weighs in at 530MB!

I doubt he'd ask this if he had broadband, I smell 56k! And no, theres no manual D/L, so you'll just have to wait for it to D/L. I remember it being a pain, but the best way to speed it up is to get broadband(if available).
