Well the update apparently nerfed eviscerate to 1-31 damage which at first glance is minor compared to its original 10-34.
However when i tested it on 12 axe, i was only doing +25 damage..
besides the deep wound cleave is now doing more base damage at half adrenline cost...
It takes 15 axe mastery to get eviscerate up to 31 damage..

Is this a mistake or is there something im missing here?

originally it was up to +42 and deep wound at 16 axe.

at 12 axe you're only going to be getting around 25.

No, you don't understand... when a skill description reads 1...31, 1 is at 0 and 31 is at 12...

31 is NOT supposed to be for maxed out axe... why the hell do you think eviscerate was 10...34 in skill description yet at 16 axe mastery you got +42??

Wow what a mystery!

Actually I think he means it has already been nerfed once before (although I'm not sure).

Eviscerate is +33 damage at 16 axe mastery now, +25 at 12.

yup, the X..Y numbers on the update arent the usual 0..12 numbers, they seem to be set at 0..15 on many of the skills. anet trying to confuse us lol...

Anet use 1-15 in their skill variables, at first, i thought 1-31 at 12 AxMa was great! because at 12 axe mastery, theres more difference between 1 and 31 (30) than between 10 and 34 (24) meaning each point gives more of a bonus, so my 16 axe mastery would mean MORE damage than 10-34, but unfortunately, it seems not..

Yeah, it looks like they screwed up their skill update list. It's +25 at 12 axe. I anticipate these will be corrected on the update page to be on a scale of 0 - 12 in the attribute levels.

Guildwars.com uses a scale of 0...15 for its Skill Desps.

GuildWiki and Guru just seem to like 0...12 better because it doesnt factor in runes.

EDIT: excuse me, corrected a typo.

From guildwars.com:

Warrior: Axe Mastery

Points in this attribute increase basic axe damage and damage dealt by axe skills.

All skills are shown with minimum and maximum values. The minimum is with 0 points in the related attribute; the maximum is with 15 points in the related attribute. It is possible to have more than 15 points in a given attribute, but values will need to be calculated on the 15-point figures given in the individual descriptions.

-----------

Just to backup what has been stated several times but seems to be ignored.

It's 12, pretty sure. That's the number where the weapon does default damage as well.

Deep Wound already did 80-100 virtual damage on top of the base damage and the +damage. 9 damage is a pittance.

last i knew having 12 in weapon att dont mean squat for default weapon damage. YOu just need the req for the weapon then it will do the default damage.

Attribute level 12 is for 100% of listed damage; attribute level 16 gives you 115% of listed damage. Click here, scroll down to the first table you see.

And actually, in response to Old Man, the +31 is at 15.
