Things I would like to see changed

I have been playing for a few months now, and love the game. But there are some things that get to me that I would like to see the designers address. And I am sure that I am not the only one.

1. Cut scenes. I love to see the cut scenes, they really flesh out the story. But often times I just want to move along and move to the next chapter.

Give us the ability to go back and re-watch a cut scene once we have unlocked it. The command can be placed in the main menu, and allow us to skip it, and go back at our leisure and watch it again. In this way people can agree to skip it, and those that are going through for the first time do not have to miss everything.

2. Treasure distribution. I have noticed that the treasure tends to go mostly to those that fight and do the most damage. Now that is not a bad design, unless you are playing a monk that is spending most of his/her time healing the party members who are involved in the fight. I am running a monk, and am tired of finishing a big battle where I am healing left and right, only to get "8 bones" as a treasure (or often times no treasure at all). At least put in a way to distribute based on number of spells cast, not just damage done to the monsters.

And also, why not try to assign treasure based on class? So many times I will see Fighters getting assigned daggers, Rangers getting healing wands, and Monks getting hammers. In LOTR, you would never see the archerer picking up a sword as treasure, while the warrior dwarf picks the long bow. My Assassin (which gets more treasure per combat) tends to get better staves then my Monk does.

3. Individual User Chat Blocking. I often times am in a town, and find some idiot either being abusive to other players, or sending out spam after spam in the general chat. Give us the ability to block out other users. Is hard to follow what goes on when you have some knucklehead saying 20 times in a row "Selling sword" in the general chat.

4. Kick users during mission. This one is a bit more tricky. Several times now I have gone out on a mission, only to find somebody who is either abusive to others, or who sits by the starting area sponging treasure and experience off of those of us that are really fighting. Give the leader the ability to remove these people. Currently the only choice is to go back to town then kick them out, which is often times more trouble then it is worth.

5. Auto shift to next monster. One thing that is frustrating in combat is that you have to manually move from monster to monster. Why not simply allow users to set a flag so that when the targeted monster in combat dies, they move to the next one that is inside the agrro circle? Make this an option, so only those who want this setting will use it. Or make it a hotkey, that has to be enabled for each mission/combat.

I am sure there are many others out there that have other thoughts, but these are ones that really stand out for me.

You can do that in Factions. Talk to the guy who gives you info about the mission/whatever and you can ask him to show the cutscene again.

Some of these ideas have already been suggested, (Sardelac is the SUGGESTION forum), but there already is a quest log. Maybe its not as complete as you like(showing all completed quests past, present future) but there are already suggestions for those too(I think). I'm pretty sure the treasure distribution balances after awhile.
Auto shift would be awesome though.

Towns in Factions have this.

Wrong theory.

People are finding a way to do it.

It's called TAB through monsters with the TAB button on your keyboard.
It's called IGNORE LIST.

It seems you need to learn more about the game.

1. While it would be nice to be able to watch cut scenes later, there is no guarantee that everybody in your party will skip it.

Dreikki: You can only replay the cut scenes that play upon entry to the locations; you cannot replay mission cutscenes in Factions.

2. You assume an understanding of how the loot drop system works. I have no reason to believe it is not fair.

3. Apparently you are unaware of the ignore list.

4. Bad idea. There are so many ways this can be abused, and it has been debated before. For example, player gets uber-drop. Player is kicked from group. Team leader now picks up uber drop. Just a bad idea.

5. No need for this. It's one keystroke or mouseclick.

edit: 6. I'll go along with this one. Although, also suggested before.

One suggestion I have is for a minion master to have a window like the party window for minions. Also, the ability to hotkey the slots, or to tab through the minions, something like that.

Apparently you are unaware that the ignore list has a cap of 10 people. I for one would like to see a temporary ignore command for spammers, or removal of the cap. If there were no cap I would have atleast a few hundred people on ignore, and a much more tranquil chat window.

!. On Factions you can watch cutscenes again, and using factions, I do everything with henchmen so no wait
2. I read in the manuscripts that it's random drop distributing, even if it feels like it's going to one person it probably isn't.
3.Yeah, the post above said about the ignore list.
4."
5. Press "c" when done attacking one monster, it's not hard, anyway, the only reason it'd should move automatically is if you're afk, which you shouldn't be/

Do not post "A Few Ideas" threads. If you have more than one idea ---first double check with the search button and the index thread to make sure they're fresh suggestions, and create a seperate thread for each one with a relevant title.
This looks like one of those threads.
And a few things have been discussed before as well so perhaps search next time?

You can always turn off local chat if there are a lot of spammers. As for the 10 limit on the ignore list, simply clean it out once a week and remove everyone from it. Most people will annoy you for an hour or two, maybe a day, and then move on. There is no point having names on the ignore list of people that annoyed you 5 months ago for example.

That only works for the cutscene you get when first entering the mission outpost, though...

Beat me to it Anryla. Can't blame the OP though since this thread was moved.

As has been stated: all these have been suggested at some point or another. Thats not to say "its all be said before". More along the lines of "Welcome to the Sanitarium."

I agree that my point 4 could be abused, and you notice I did say "this one is tricky".

However, the "treasure drop abuse" could easily be solved by something that is already in the game. During a lot of battles that end with cut scenes (entering to post-searing for example), you get a pop-up box that lists the treasures that you did not get when the scene started. This gives you a second chance to pick them up.

If somebody is booted, you simply have all of the treasures assigned to them go with them. This gives them the chance to get what they missed, and prevents the group leader from abusing this power. And limit it, to no more then 1 person per outing maybe. If you have more then one jerk in a group, it really is time to go back to town and re-do your party.

And I know about the ignore, but that is simply not enough. One that would be temporary and deleted each time you leave a town would be much easier. This was I can reserve my permanent blocks to those that I really do not want to ever hear from again, and use the temp ones for those jerks who are only being a temporary anoyance.

And thanks for moving this post. I am sure many know (by the number of misplaced posts) that this is not the easiest board to find where to place your post (not a criticizm, just a comment). I spend the vast majority of my time in the Technical area, since this is really my specialty. And I was sure that at least some of these were brought up before. But not all of us have been involved in here for months and months, and there are around 700 topics in this topic alone. If everybody is expected to search through them (and all the other ones on this forum), that would seriously impede any new posts from new users.

NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!

Have you forgotten that warrior swords and axes, followed by ranger bows and assassin daggers, have the highest selling prices? If you do this, then my monk will be forever doomed to receive varying degrees of wands and staves, but will never ever ever get the coveted req 8 Gothic Sword inherent energy+5.

NO! Continue to let the drops be random across the professions.
Or else fix the economy so my HP+30 staff head has a chance to be worth as much as your Sword Pommel HP+30.
