erm, every character gets those items, and they are customized.

this whole fiasco is such a mess...it was awful for factions with the preorder box, and apparently the situation hasnt improved.

At least we don't need the pre-release box right away.

I mean, as long as we get it when the game comes out for the bonus slot and weapons, of course.

But, maybe, just maybe, Anet should tack a week onto their "release date".

My IW Me/Mo is having a blast doing mass damage to several targets at same time with her Scythe. I'd have to have W as secondary to do the same with an axe (cyclone axe)

My presearing R/Mo does 40+ dmg with the scythe. And around 20ish with the spear.

So yes I'm trying to make good use of them already!

I hope the UK retailers are better informed about how the whole preorder/bonus pack thing works this time around, when factions came out I was just met with blank faces in the 3 big retailers I visited when I tried to do the preorder thing for factions. I ended up picking a retail copy up on release day (after I found out my CE wasn't arriving in time).

Yowzers Batman! I know yesterday in a different thread someone was asking about the music tracks on the bonus pack disc and someone said there was only one song. I just popped the disc in and there's 8 full length tracks. On the American disc anyway.

2 BB, no luck, Target, no luck. I will just wait till the weekend, mabey go out tommarow and look around. I got a bad felling. Oh and i live in IL, which is a big state, so you would figure they would be smarter.

There seems to be a lot of confusion about how these things work. ArenaNet will be providing the pre order packs to retailers free of charge.

It is entirely up to the retailers how they use the packs to promote the product.

If you don't need the extra slot and don't want the crappy blue items, what are you complaining about? You're not being forced to buy it. So don't!

Same here (NYC). I went to the Gamestop near me and the guy thought I was nuts.

Conversation:
Me- "Hi. I'd like to prelease Guild Wars Nightfall Collector's Edition with the Starter or prerelease kit."
Sales guy- "Starter???, like a starter kit for PC or for GW Nightfall?"
Me- "Yes, let me go find the printout from Gamestop.com."
*digs in pockets
Sales guy - "Uh, we don't have that in our system."
Me- "What is there?"
Sales guy - "GW: Nightfall Collector's Edition and GW: Nightfall Regular. Maybe it is an online only offer."
*hands printout from Gamestop.com
Me- "Here, I found the info."
Sales guy - *reads the prerelease part ALOUD
Me (thinking WTF does the whole line have to know I'm preordering GW?)
Me- "Well isn't Gamestop.com the same as (this) store?"
Sales guy - "sometimes there are online only offers but you can preorder Collector's Edition and we'll save you whatever extras they send us if there is any left"
Me (thinking, if there is any left =yeh right)-
Sales guy - "You could order it online..."
Me- "I don't want to wait for them to send it and pay extra shipping. I'll come back next week and maybe it will come to the store."
Sales guy - "Here's the business card to call before coming in."
*I leave after taking business card and my printout

Basically I held the line for 20 minutes b/c Gamestop = clueless.

Do you need the bonus pack or preorder nightfalls to get the preview weekend? Best Buy here says they won't have it until the 24th and the preview is the 22nd. So what do you have to do to play on the 22nd?

Wow, didn't know the Scythe was a natural AoE weapon. (I didn't play the PvP) That's pretty awesome.

And how is your Ranger doing 40+ damage?!? I thought you had to have minumum reqs to do that kind of dam.



Back on topic: I called Comp USA here. They have it in their system (shock!) But I have to order it. $6.49. Can I order over the phone? No, I have to order in person, pay up front. 5-6 days delivery.

Checked Comp USA on the internet: Nightfall's not even in there! This is so messed up, it's not even funny.

Im not. But I still have the right to inform others of what is going on and if I am unhappy or not with it. These preorder bonus packs are suppose to be free and in all the time of my gaming (which is pre commodore 64) I have never seen a game with a perorder package that has a fee. Sometimes its a free shirt or a poster or whatever. And that is the underlying problem with this since since no bonus for preordering I will not preorder. If it came with that stuff that is suppose to be free then I would. So basically them charging a fee has totally defeated the point of what those packages are for since no difference between me preordering now or walking in the door and getting it on release date since all that crap that they will be sold out is bs since their will always be a copy somewhere for me to get. Thats why most companies give thse packages away so they see how their sales will be and at least have an idea of how many are needed for release day. There is a bigger picture to it and why they do it and i think charging for this bonus is bs.

You don't have to do anything for the PvE preview event. It's open to everyone; even those that don't have an existing account.

I guess you missed the parts where they stated very boldly and bluntly that this is not a preorder pack and has nothing to do with preordering.

And they also announced it specifically as a seperate retail package about two months before it went on sale and recieved much debate in the Nightfall section.

That almost sounds about the same conversation I had with Gamestop, but he said I would get both, and that's what I ordered…and I am going to hold him to it.
