category - 1 man spike

attributes:

energy storage - 8+1
deadly arts - 10

skill set:
1. assassin's promise <e>
2. impale
3. glyph of sacrifice
4. golden pheonix strike
5. twisting fangs
6. pheonix
7. conjure flame
8. res sig

summary:
this build isn't meant for serious PvP, its a fun build that occasionally gets a person to whisper you amazed at how fast he died, and how he never saw it coming...
how to use it is rather simple, you use fiery daggers, use conjure before the fight and use skills 1-6 in that order. twisting fangs, pheonix and impale will all land together causing a character with almost max health die instantaniously. if the spike was successful, you can immidiately go and kill another character, because all your skills are recharged.
note that the target will still die without impale, but it gives you extra damage for 70 AL targets and is a geat cover hex for AP.
even with a monk in the enemy team, the spike isn't noticable until it's too late. all a monk will see is a hex and the damage from GPS, if he didnt act until this point (busy with other party members being damaged), its too late...

notes and concers:
the build has no self heal, so its better to take this into TA, where you know the team will have a monk. also, if you fail a spike (and you will eventually), you'll be reduced from a spike powerhouse to a small pressure-less warrior for 30 seconds or so.
basically, this build is very risky to run, but if it works, the effect you have on the battle is insane. in addition, its really, really fun to run

credits:
i read a long time ago about a person who used something like this, so i improved it, adding assassin's promise and impale and switched his glyph of essence for glyph of sacrifice.

enjoy!

Nice build, kinda heavy reliance on assassins promise though, like if you hit a snag then your really gonna feel the recharges ;\

I use assassins promise on a fire elem too in pve, its an awesome skill if you can get the timing right.

Sin's Promise in PVP is funny.

A better way to Phoenix spike is like this:

but that would work too...

well like you posted in your build, the monk should be somewhat preoccupied with pressure on other characters, and a hex is harder to notice than an adrenaline spike...
besides, assassin's promise is covered, and its not a well known skill. a monk wouldnt strip it in time, and the spike is so fast only a pre-prot spirit will guarantee it being stopped...

any build like this is only effective in certain situations, but when it is effective, its devastating.
to guarantee efectivness, take this build into TA with a blight, a mesmer (either degen for hex spam or domination to stop the monk) and a shock/thumper for pressure. you'll have nice dps and a continuous spike, and even if the spike fails, the build entirely isnt lost...
