Defective Bonus CD? No concept art? No wallpapers?

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place, hopefully an admin can move it to the right place if necessary. I mentioned this in another thread but I certainly don't want to hijack the OP's thread so here it is again.

I just got my Nightfall Pre-Release Bonus Pack CD from EB Games in Toronto, and the CD only contains 8 music files on it. There are no other files, folders... visible or hidden. I have tried open/explore on the CD, everything I can, but there is simply nothing other than the 8 cda files (for the audio). I just realized this after reading the thread where everyone was discussing concept art and I realized I didn't get any! Or wallpapers. Or trailers. Or anything other than the music (which does play, at least).

Is this normal or did I get a defective CD which is missing a ton of stuff?

Not likely...The cd might be a dvd that some drive can't read. Check that first and if that's not the case. You should talk to EB Games. I'm sure they'll exchange it for a new one.

I'm seeing the same thing, and to top it off, the bonus key will not add to my account. It says it already has those features active.

Strange mine's a CD. Are you sure the audiofiles are .cda? Cause mine are .mp3. As promotions for each region is alightly different; maybe the decided to just give Canada some tunes to listen to?

I just bought mine today.

location: North York. ebgames.

My cd works fine. everything is there. music/pics/wallpaper/etc.

but only problem i have now is the 2 weps not showing up.

Hope Gaile explains something about this soon.

there is talk of this in a few other threads... after the 'second update' for the faces and stuff, a lot of people had it disabled....

...probably anet telling us where to go for being so rude about the face thing.

Im not adding my key til the preview weekend just to be safe.

I got mine today Fry's ele(had alot too BTW) and the items don't work, i do /preorder and get the factions ones, but they mabey have done this on purpise. Till then i will set back. They also need to fix the Key manager. Cause i still gotta add in the PC Gamer code too.

Thanks Starsky. This likely confirms that Canada was intended to get all goodies on the bonus disc, since Starsky bought his bonus pack from a store about 20 minutes away from mine. Funnily, I had another guy pm me today saying his disc had everything EXCEPT the music. O_O. Looking at the thread and other places, I'm finding there are many people who got defective Nightfall bonus pack CDs - missing different parts here and there.

Anet/PlayNC, I sure hope whoever you had in charge of manufacturing/distribution/quality control of the Nightfall Bonus Pack CD, is NOT in charge for the actual Nightfall game CD. I'd hate to buy it on Oct 27 and find 1/2 the game files missing.... =P Now how disappointing would THAT be...

try /bonusitems or something like that.

Ok, it's not a pre-release anything. It's a Bonus pack and it comes with an extra slot, some weapons for the new professions and a few other "bonuses". But it is not a pre-release.

Once more; the prerelease pack wont show up in the key manager until you add your retail copy of Nightfall to unlock the goodies. Your not supposed to get the bonus slot nor the bonus weapons until you add the retail key. The bug is that anyone was able to spawn the weapons; not that you can't spawn them now. I'd say you're fine to add the PC Gamer code now.



If it comes out before the game is released it's prerelease..... not sure what you're getting at there.

I'm checking about those PBP items. I truly am unsure if they're supposed to be on your account now, or at release, like the character slot.

We will want to change the messaging, I'm sure, as an error message doesn't seem appropriate. In the past we've used a "The event has not yet started" sort of message. This has been reported and I imagine we'll see a change soon.

As for the CD problem... mine works fine. Make sure you have auto play on.


PS. Other than the music, most of the other stuff is on the net already.

Well, yes, that's VERY helpful. I had not seen that text -- it explains things beautifully. So those people who had the items for a short period of time got a little "sneak peek" but the items are not to be on the account, for real, until release of Nightfall, just like the Character Slot.
