Its a common bug, im afraid you'll hav to redo the quest or buy the ashes in piken square which is way easier imo

Yeah, and since you in all actuality completed the quest but were hindered by a bug, you don't even have to have a twinge of guilt for skipping the quest.

I have 7 characters and only did it twice. The second time was with my MM and boy was it much easier. After that, I spent the 75-100g for the ashes.

If you did and you still encountered a problem then it was likely the bug mentioned by the other posters.

Yeah first time I ever did the quest I forgot the Urn... had to redo it.

I've never experienced the glitch.

Ok, this is something I've never understood. Why do people sell these ashes for so cheap ? Isn't it a waste of time for such little reward ? Is there some method whereby they make one run and are able to fill mutiple urns ? Perhaps one character having an inventory full of them, while another collects the ashes one at a time ? Then people stand in Pikens forever trying to sell them. Hopefully someone could enlighten me as to why people do this, because I just don't get it. I completely understand buying the ashes, as I have several times myself, but how does the seller benefit ?

Last time I ran the ashes mission, I picked up enough for the rest of my slots. (twice was enough for me)

If you have 250 urns in your inventory, will will get 250 sets of ashes. The hassle is in collecting the urns one at a time from the Duke. In theory, if you had your entire inventory full of urns, you could make one run and have around 10,000 sets of ashes. sell those for 75 gold each... 750,000 in gold.

It is relatively easy to get a bunch of the urns built up, just need to get the quest and urn, abandon quest, talk to guy, get quest and urn, abandon quest, rinse and repeat. Then make one run out and get ashes from all of them.

Bascially they are making good money off of not really spending much time to get your initial setup. The tedious part is in the selling, spamming all day long.
