Nightfall, Alliance Faction, and you

So what will become of the Kurzik/Luxon Alliance battles come Nightfall? Will it no longer be a topic? Is nightfall more PVE based? Anyone got the scoup?

I think.
They will still be popular.
Yes, kinda.
Yup.
I have soup.

Anyway it would appear to be more pve based.

Afaik, a guild must still have some amount of faction, or it's removed from the alliance when it reaches 0. Hopefully that's been changed, or they remove that requirement.

i think it will be easier to control towns then when everyone starts to focus more on Nightfall and stop gaining massive amounts faction points like they do right now

In my estimation, the only thing Factions will be good for once Nightfall hits is "extra content" you have to pay for.
Currently, in order to create or join an alliance, guild leader must declare allegiance to either Kurzicks or Luxons, which can only be done in House Zu Heltzer and Cavalon respectively. Unless Nightfall offers an alternative mechanic for creating alliances, only guild leaders who own Factions will be able to create or join alliances, just as only people who own Factions will have access to the materials storage.
To answer the OP's question more specifically, I think the only people concerned with AB and faction farming after Nightfall release will be those who are going for faction point donation titles. I have always considered the "persistant warfare" part of Factions a grind, so in my estimation most people will jump over to Nightfall as soon as it is available - assuming Nightfall does not utilize the same mechanic, and assuming it isn't worse than Factions, which I consider the only two things that could make people come back to AB.
But these are just my estimations. None of this is "scoop"

Guilds don't get auto kicked out of alliances if they have no faction, since once you've earned some faction, it is mathematically impossible to get rid of it all.

Yes nightfall IS more pve based. Even more so than original GW apparently. I'm guessing people will still AB but the faction required to control towns will more then likey drop a LOT except for maybe HZH and Cavalon.

i dont think that the factions will have anything to do with night fall *sigh* since this takes place on a whole new continet it wont have any effect

1. The OP wasn't asking about whether factions is related to nightfall. Just what will happen to the Alliance Battles when Nightfall gets released.
2. Nightfall is not on a new continent. It's on the other side of the Crystal Desert.
3. It's "scoop" not "scoup"; hence the soup...

It appears that alliances, faction, and related aspects of the game will remain Chapter 2 (Factions) specific. But I think alliance battles will continue to rage on for various reasons:
1. Not everyone will have Nightfall and people play what they have.
2. AB is a great way to try out new builds for PvP, and many new builds will emerge with the new characters (I'm assuming Nightfall characters will be able to access AB in a combined account).
3. AB is still a decent money maker for people who would be doing it anyway - in last weekend's double faction event I was getting 10K faction (worth 6K in amber) in an hour. Sure there are faster ways to make money, but it's a nice added incentive.

I have the feeling that Factions towns and outposts will be ghost towns once Nightfall is released. Will Alliances even matter then? I'll be the first to admit it if I'm wrong.
