Please Help Me =d Its Urgent

...ok i went to barnes and noble and got an acess key for the grey giant, would it be "permanent-bannable" for me to enter it in? *note* it was one of their "open magazines" i didn't pay anything
Knightsaber Sith
Don't be one of those jerks that everyone's complaining about. If someone eventually buys that magazine, and the key doesn't work for them, they might open a ticket with plaync support. When support sees he has the magazine and everything; but you have the key on your account; it's hard to say what'll happen.

No, but I suppose if you use that code someone will be very unhappy. do throw it out, please.
Dauntless
Well now that you publicly admitted what you've done it's quite possible you could get in trouble.

geez =) ok ill throw it out, its just that i don't make any money. And no one will buy the mag... anyways...i just wanna know how i could get banned
Dante the Warlord
unless someone could get me the code =) but i dunno anyways =( ill prob. just give it to a friend...awww i really wanted one..
Knightsaber Sith
Tell ya what; hang onto the code and try to enter it a week after Nightfall goes live. If no one has bought the magazine and used the code by then; go ahead. lol
Dante the Warlord
hmmm....i wonder...what if i hold on to it untill november =) and then submit it if no one else buys it !

So let me get this straight, you make no money so you want to know if it would be ok if you technically 'stole' the key from the magazine so you could use it on your own account? If you don't make any money, then you obviously can't afford the $50 price tag that will be on Nightfall when it's released on Oct 27. If that's really the case then the key is useless to you as you have to do a quest in Elona to get the mini-pet, it doesn't just appear in your account. So either you have the money, in which case the key is just an extra $10 for the magazine (and may have already been used by some other cheapass given that you claim it was already opened) or you don't have the money in which case it's pointless for you to take the key.
Whether or not you're the one who opened the bag around the magazine, you are attempting to profit from a crime. If a semi hauling beer has an accident and bottles / kegs of beer are spilled all over the road, it's still considered theft to go pick them up and take them home without paying for them. This is no different.

I don't make any money, my brother buys everything and i get the leftovers... besides im only 15 :-P...anyways...i just wrote down the code unless no one buys it...that way no harm done, and my barnes and nobles leaves everything open, even guides...god knows how they make any money
Besides how will they figure out...there are sealed ones too lol...no one would buy a mag that i already made unmint condition

P.S. He thinks minipets are "useless" and a waste...

Get off his case...Some of these posts are deadly close to starting a flame...
It isn't like he said he went into the store, ripped open one of the magazines on the stand and stole the code out...
He didnt even explain the circumstances, sometimes Barnes and Nobles opens some copies of the magazine themselves and sets them out, maybe thats where he got it? If it was opened in an act of vandelism by someone else its 99% likely they did it for the code anyway so it wouldnt work.
I would have no guilty conscience about using the code, and there is NOTHING Anet can do to you for using it - Except give you a Gray Giant when Nightfall comes out.
Theres your answer, We can fight about how morally correct it is, but there is nothing Anet is going to do to you for using it.

I could care less if you use the code. And if you use the code without buying the magazine, I hope you do get banned. It really wouldn't be that hard since someone elso would physically have the keycode which is entered on your account. What's the difference between this code and the game code that people get back all the time when they contact support and prove that they have the hard copy ? Nothing.
On the other hand, why don't you just steal the whole RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing magazine, you little juvenile delinquent...

No proof of purchase necessary...

My local library often has magazines floating about on a regular basis, including PC Gamer. You could try your local library for a PC Gamer and use that code. If it works, then it is yours legit', if not then I guess it's a case of first to come, first to be served.

I have no doubt that someone has already used the code..lets face it are you the only one that plays GW in you area? someone else would of had the same idea..
Like I said there is no proof of purchase necessary.
