Hi team,
This is just an idea I had while watching the Guild Wars Factions cinematic.
Wouldn't it be superb if, when fighting an alliance battle (Luxons vs. Kurzicks), both armies appeared in their respective armour. So all
Luxons would look as they do in the cinematic, and so too would the Kurzicks appear in their military dress.
In fact, the leader of each of the three groups could even be dressed in higher ranking armour - as do Archemorus, and the Kurzick bloke in the cinematic.
I'd love to hear if anyone thought this was a good idea, it would be so easy for the GW team to implement in a single update, and I think it'd look so good to see the battle grounds littered with Luxon and Kurzick corpses, while a proper war goes on in the background.

New ALLIANCE Battle idea.

i like my armor fine...
besides we arent luxon or kurzicks, we are merely allied with them.

I'm not suggesting you sacrifice your armour, only that when you enter into an alliance battle, your armour changes its appearance to that of either the Luxons or the Kurzicks - there would be no change apart from the appearance.
As for us actually being Luxons or Kurzicks, I think a lot of people in the game do feel pretty loyal to one or the other of these factions (however ridiculous that may be) - enter into any Alliance battle and it won't be long before you hear (or read) Kurdick this, or Suxon that.
I think people would enjoy seeing a proper 12 man Luxon army take on a proper 12 man Kurzick army when they're fighting for these factions.

Im sorry, but I dont think you understood what lyra meant. She wants to stay in her own armour in an alliance battle because she prefers it... and so do I to be honest.

i think i see where you're coming from but people generally make some attempt to individualize their characters through their armor (pve chars) so people who pve/pvp would generally be against it.
interesting "immersive technique" though

I did understand that, I was just trying to make clear exactly what I meant.
However, if people would prefer to keep it as it currently is, then clearly the wisest decision for Anet would be to retain the current system.
This idea was just something I thought would be interesting, but if no one agrees, then obviously how it is now would have to do.

Mmm I think I'd prefer my ranger's Luxon armor than Kurzick military attire, no matter where.

mm... So people that worked hard to aquire FoW armor and other 15k expensive armors would have to be basicly labeled as PvE noobs because they cant show it in PvP.
You re just trying to take away the only thing thats left for people to show off in PvP besides skill, Armor. Dyes, weapons, etc.
Im Ally of the luxons and I dont like this idea. I dont really wanna wear what luxon soldiers wear. And I dont like red that much to be honest lol. Plus people would get confused in following their team mates around.
OOOOH A place of Red and Blue people. How fun... Not

There's no need to get so offended - if the idea of losing the appearance of your 15k armour for 5-10 mins gets your blood boiling so, then you're clearly far too invested in the game, and need to get out more.
This was just a harmless idea - naturally, if it were implemented, they'd have to develop some quality looking armour rather than the basic design they have now for NPCs, and also, they'd have to develop variation to make recognisable which profession everyone is, and how experienced they are.
Perhaps a better suggestion would be some kind of compromise. More than simply changing the Guild cape blue or red, perhaps they could go a little further with displaying which Faction you're fighting for. But if this offends you as excessively, please accept my humble apology.
If people don't like the idea, that's no problem - but it seems I'll have to make clear, I didn't mastermind this to try and upset those that spend their lives collecting gold to buy black dye.
Let's keep the peace.
