Sound Effects gone

I checked the first 5 pages as well as a search, which turned up a few issues from the begining of the year that said it was fixed.

However, I am testing a PC out, I'm told it can't stay connected to the internet.

I thought that I could go surfing or a constant ping, however time is best spent multi-tasking, and my client gave me the ok to ply on their PC because you need a connection to play.

The issue is I get the music but no sound effects. I did an install from the client on guildwars.com

My laptop plays fine, with all the effects and such. I did a downoad from the login page and I downloded about 2Gb of data, I'm guesing that it should have been enough to load the effects.

Has anyone encountered this recently? It isn't a big issue as I am testing a PC, but would still be nice to have effects for the next day or so.

Oddily enough, I've lost alot of effects with the update also. They play randomly at best, so it's an issue with not just you...

I'm currently in touch with support and so far the asked me to turn down sound quality and that didn't help.

I experience the same thing as gabriel heart, it's random if spell sounds play - sometimes they do sometimes they don't.

I'm pretty sure it's an actual bug in the last update because it wasn't there before.
