i have guild wars Factions and my friend dave has the first guild wars is it possible that i could hook up with him?????? how do i get to old ascalone???

Factions and Prophecies are two different campaigns; you'll have to buy Prophecies and add it to your account to play with him. Or he could buy Factions.

Proph. and factions are two different stand alone titles- though they can be combined together allowing your account to have access to each game.

For you and your friend to play in ascalon of Cantha together, you both need to own a copy of both games.

You can either purchase the games themselves, or you can order the access keys for the games online through the GW store.

Even if you both have different games, you can still meet up in certain areas such as the PVP islands and your guild hall (given you're both in the same guild and your guild owns one)
