dopple after nahpui - bug or normal?

I have a Tyrian born W/mo that has already done Nahpui before attempting my doppleganger. Did my dopple tonight and it was wielding a hornbow and when it died I got only 1000 exp. (at least that's all that showed on the screen - perhaps the bonus idk) Is this because I was already considered to be ascended by having completed the factions version of that? Or is it bugged somehow.

Not a bug - it is the case with all missions in Tyria if you have a Canthan character.
Yes your dopple does wield a bow, and then switches weapons when you get close enough.

as I said it is a Tyrian character. And he never switched weapons as he dropped the bow when he died.

1) Your character is Tyrian born, as you stated twice.
2) You did the Canthan equivalant to ascension (Closer to the Stars).
3) When you went to Augury Rock to fight your mirror self you only got 1000 experience.
IMHO, it's not a bug. You only got 1000 experience because your character is already ascended.

Not a bug, you didn't mention whethere you beat him in under 50 seconds. That is the only way to get the 50000.

Um your wrong you get 50k xp for beating him the first time. The bonus is doing it in under 50seconds and that is an extra 1k xp.

But think about it you did napiu and now the game thinks your ascended. Thus allowing you into uw and fow. So its probably good to asume that the ascension test does the same check as fow and uw to verify if your ascended or not.
Now then if we get 50kxp from napui then i would think this is correct but if we dont then you still should get it killing dopler for first time.

This is my assassin beating the doppelganger. She had already beaten all of factions before that, so she was already ascended when doing this. As you can see, I got 100XP for the kill, 1000XP each for the mission and the bonus, plus 50kXP for ascension, nonetheless.
However, this is the second time now I read something like this lately (not getting the full reward for beating the doppelganger), so I think it is possible something was changed there with one of the recent updates (my screenshot was taken before that). Whether that would be an intended change or a bug, I don't know.

Well, I know that originally they said you would have to be ascended just to get your Tyrian Char to Cantha but they changed that. So I didn't think there would be a penalty (ie no 50K exp) for doing certain parts of the Factions campaign first.
Is it confirmed that if a Tyrian does Nahpui only (and not the dopple) that will let you into god realms? Seems like Ascension should really only be for a character's homeland.
Thanks for the screenshot. That's definitely not what mine looked like. I only got the single 1000 exp. No 100 for killing, no 2nd 1000 even though it went down in about 15 secs and no 50k. Maybe this has something to do with some of the reward graphics being glitched since the update. Unfortunately I didn't check my exp amount prior to doing it. I've got about 1.145 million so it's possible I got the exp but it just didn't show. There was no 'gained a skill point' message either.

Don't take his screenshot for proof just yet. You said you were a tyrian born. He is obviously canthan born. There may be a difference there in the way it acts.

that would defeat the purpose of being able to choose your path. The point of being able to go to cantha from lions arch is you pick sides in away. You either stay in your homeland and keep going or you go to cantha to countinue your story.

Now there definitely is something wrong here. Assuming that you are level 20 yourself, you must get 100 XP for defeating a level 20 opponent (if your level is lower, you get more XP). It doesn't matter whether it's a Jade Brotherhood Knight, Rockshot Devourer or Doppelganger. The Doppelganger has never been an exception to that.

I didn't grab a screenshot myself so I can only go on what I remember which was only the single 1000. Perhaps the 100 was there and I just didn't register it since I was expecting big numbers and the skill point effect. Anyway life goes on. Right now I'm more annoyed at having to redo missions in the desert to do skill caps that aren't available outside the mission.

If that is the case, then it sounds like a bug to me. Since you never get the quest Closer to the Stars, being a Tyrian born character. So storyline-wise you are not ascended as such.
Edit: Oops. I got it all wrong. Tyrians do get Closer to the Stars. Sorry.
But it still seems wrong, not getting the 50k.

When i beat my doppleganger(on 3 characters), it never said 50k exp after he died, but rather the video showing my victory. During the video where my guy cheered because he defeated the doppleganger, it said +50,000xp above him.

Did you, by chance, have a battle that ended in a draw earlier? From time to time I've had the dop die just after I did. Got the 50K but failed the mission and had to try again.
