If you ordered from EB Games or Gamestop...

especially their online stores you beter get on the phone and start calling them. I been on he phone with them for the past hour trying to get the status of the shipment of the preorder starter kit only to be told they are NOT shipping it until the game ships in october! I even had to send the phone rep a screenshot of my order showing it was to have been shipped on the 15th. I have called 4 different gamestop stores in my area and NONE ..absolutely NONE of them have the starter kit and all of them say nothing involving Nightfall comes out till October!

Actually, it really doesn't matter if that's true.

None of the bonus items or slots will work until the retail release anyway.

I called them about my order on Saturday asking if anything was wrong with my order. Since no email received of shipment status or any online indication of it being shipped on there web site. The person I spoke too all he said we are still waiting for "The Game" then I explained about the bonus pack and the web site says it ships the 9-15-2006 and the guys say we are still waiting for the game.

At that point I hang up the phone in discuss

Is anyone else having this problem? Or have you revived your Starter kit online order from GameStop?

Any info would be nice and thanks.

I pre-ordered Nightfall CE from Gamestop, and was told they'd call me when the pre-release pack comes in.

I'm guessing it will take 2 weeks or so (like Factions pre-order did at EB Games last year), but I'm not really worried about it because you can't use any of the bonus stuff until the game comes out anyway.

BTW, there's a thread discussing the Pre-release, it would make sense to have all these posts merged into one thread.

I don't think that was the point Ruby was making Mordakai. The point is with no disc, there is no weekend play.

I'm very disturbed with this. I planned to play Nightfall quite extensively this weekend. Not sure what I'm gonna do now.

Everyone gets to play the preview event; you don't need anything and certainly not the prerelease pack.

Nothing on the disk will be available to you at the preview anyway, the extra char. slot and bonus items will only work when you have entered your Nightfall key.

I knew something was fishy about was going on with the pre-releases pack at EB (boy do I dislike retailer policies). However you do know they call it the pre-release pack for reason though. Anyways they are sort of right, it really does not matter till it comes out (oh well I guess I wasted $10+tax on mine from fry’s).

They just updated the site since those dates weren't changed little bit ago when I checked the web site also since I have order from them too.

for the fun of it though as of friday they still have not received any to ship according to the main office not the local store.

are you sure you can't use the bonus items until release? With the pre-order pack for Factions i was able to use the daggers and staff in pre-searing to boost my Elementalist (i remember because it's pretty nice having 40 energy in pre-searing) and this a month or so before i entered my Factions CD key. I remember a lot of people asking me what skin i was using.

but, yeah..i was wondering why they hadn't shipped mine yet..thanks for the info.

for those who may not have ordered..On the main page, you order it as one unit listed for 10/26, but the order form under account info has separate ship dates for the Bonus pack (9/15..same release date as it had in august) and the game. This is the same way they did the pre-order kit for Factions (order in one unit on order page, ships as two separate units on two different dates) and they shipped that kit on time. And while, yes, this is a little different from the pre-order kit, i'm actually paying for the bonus this time around, so you'd think they'd get this one out on time.

Yeah, I have to say the ebgames/gamestop franchise has really gone downhill, especially with being well informed. Look at the pre-release of factions, look at the "leak" of box info for nightfall awhile back. As a game manufacture I'd be at the point of avoiding dealing with them all-together, but they are one of the only game places in many towns, unfortunatly. I REALLY wanted to pre-order, but knowing that i would have gotten burned with the factions CE last go around, i just can't bring myself to even think of pre-ordering Nightfall. So i'm going to take my chances with getting it from Fry's and hope they are on the shelves come release. They were the only ones in vegas that had the "starter-kit" on the shelves come release day on friday.

I just spoke with them by email myself. Its most likely a failure on the part of the web script. The pre-release IS released now so the web form reflects that, but the answer from gamestop's customer service is that they are saving you money by not charging you for shipping twice. (You will note that you can't just buy the pre-release separately from them but only as a bundle with the retail game.)

I also concur with the others, the "starter" is only active after you put in the retail key for the full game. That includes the bonus item. The only thing you are being made to wait on are the trial keys and the additional concept art, etc.

I'm even cancelling my current order so I can re order and take advantage of a free overnight shipping coupon they sent me after I placed the original order.

I know its frustrating, but being charged once for shipping is better then twice, and as it won't effect the weekend event, its all good.

Gamestop sent me the Factions pre-order thing seperately, so i expect them to do the same with Nightfall's.

And yes. Those bonus items/slot are activated once you enter the retail key.

The preview weekend is FREE TO EVERYONE.

They are correct you cant get the bonuses as of yet...

People who were lucky enough to put in their keys on friday got the weapons.
I have heard the that was a glitch and they have already fixed it...I have also heard that they had to update the games since then due to some other complaints but unfortuantly that update made it immpossible for us to get our bonus weapons, but they are trying to fix it...

I don't know what story is true all i know is that i got my pack and i cant get the weapons.....I am angry since i already have the pack coming with my CE version and therefore wasted my money
