I like the idea a lot since I frequently use the mini-map. It would be very nice to have it open and partially/wholly transparent.
If I may suggest on top of the transparancy a hover/click of the mouse function to make it solid rather than transparent since it could become difficult to view.

Only if you can toggle between semi-transparent and solid.

But dude you ever think of makign that window maybe a little bit smaller? I mean of course if you blow it up like that you cant see anything
everything on your screen is so huge that you can barely see your char.
Oh well i guess its how you play,just dont complain cause you exagarate then want them to fix it BECAUSE you exagareted.( I know, Stop, i know you werent complaining, im just saying )

1. I made the map that big so you could see what I was talking about. Normally, it's about the size of the Compass, and all the way at the top-right of my screen.
2. I think that it should be more than a toggle, but a percentage slider. This way, you can choose exactly how transparent you want it to be.
