Prophecies: NPC Gwen

I'm sure everyone here has by now beat Prophecies, and maybe Factions by now, but I'm going back to Prophecies, and I come here to hopefully seek an answer to a question that has stayed in my mind.

Now I'm sure everyone remembers the NPC Gwen. The young girl in Pre-Ascalon that you can buy a cape & flute for, and give her flowers, and pretty much have her jump foir joy.

Now here is the question. After some time of showering her with gifts etc. A green exclamation point will appear over her head, and when you speak to her. She'll tell you that your her favorite person, and she will hand you her most prized possession which is a "Tapestry Shred (Quest Item)".

Now the main question is. Does this item actually have a purpose or did the creators forget to link this item to a quest since she babbles on about wanting to get home as well.

Now I've been to a few places that state that this item is useless or perhaps maybe it had a purpose when the game was first released, but I don't know. I couldn't see a game having an item in it unless it had a purpose.

Does anyone hae any insight on this matter????

nope, not a bit. There even used to be a collector outside fisherman's haven that had shredded tapestries, but he was removed last year.

It's another part of Prophecies that was left unfinished, like Carlotta the spider.

My inventory is an omage to gwen... 10 Tapestry Shreds, 1 Small Girl's Cape, around 320 flowers, 20 flutes, and 1 broken flute!

Go me.

Gwen was really useful in pre-searing once you give her a new flute!
She actually saved my life while fighting the Tower Golem! She played the flute and healed me for 24 health.

Who cares about Gwen. :|

I like her, she is just so nice. Always following me around playing her flute and healing me.

She helped me kill the lvl 3 Drake when I was only lvl 1.

What I really like is when she goes samurai and starts using her flute as a sword *sighs dreamily* if only...

tapestry shred? some say you can do something with it if you talk with her mom in the UW and you have everything that ever had anything to do with Gwen in your inventory...never tried it so I don't know, but it would be cool

And, for the record, people say that that is what is rumored to be ADDED, not what is ALREADY in the game


Gwen, oh Gwen, where are you hiding!?

Someday, Anet will do something with the Gwen mystery. Whatever they do, it better be epic lol . People have been speculating about Gwen for soooooo long.

For now, I advise taking the Tapestry shred, a cape, a flute and Gwen's broken flute and putting it storage. Oh and a few flowers also.

If Gwen would make a come-back, it would be in the final chapter of Guild Wars ! Just a random guess.

I'm sure she'll make a cameo in the last chapter...as the destroyer of worlds.

I honestly have expected her to be Nika somehow.

For about 14 months there have been a constant supply of Gwen rumours, each one sillier than the last.

But then she decided to nuke us all in the Jan BWE.
