Hi all.

We had a lot of questions poping up about the Nightfall preorder. So here is some answers to some of them.

Feel free to add or ask more, and we help out as best we can.

Q: Is there a Head-Start event for Nightfall?

A:Alex Weekes has confirmed there isn't one:

General Information

Q: Can I order Nightfall through Guild Wars Online (Ingame) Store?

A: Unknown at this time, no one knows if it will be or not. We are checking into this as well as for the Nightfall CE. The shop graphics have been updated however.

Q: Where can I get Nightfall (Europe and US)?

A: Alex Weekes has posted the following thread for Europe with a list of shops offering the Nightfall Pre-Order:

Q: Is the Nightfall Starter Kit the same as the Pre-Order and Pre-Release?

A: Yes. They are called differen't names but are all the same. You get unlimited access to the bonus items using the /bonusitems command ingame and also 1 free character slot once you add a Retail Nightfall key to you account.

Note: The free slot will not show up till you've added a Nightfall Retail key.

Q: Do we get a free character slot via the Pre-order Pack? And how is it affected by Account Merging?

A: Yes, if you add a Pre-order/Pre release Key to your account you will get 1 free character slot once you add a full Nightfall Retail key to your account.

To prevent misunderstanding it's been confirmed again by ANet and NCsoft that the character slot that comes with the Prerelease Bonus Pack really is in addition to the ones that come with the game, giving you 3 slots for a merged account or 5 slots for a stand-alone Nightfall account.

Q: Are there are two different versions of the Pre-Order / Pre-Release Nightfall Pack?

A: Yes there is. In America you get a CD in the Dervish Box with 8 bonus music tracks. The different regions each tailor their promo goodies to what they think would sell better in their territory.

Q: What is the Contents of the pre-release, standard and CE edition contents?

Gaile already said that Nightfall will become available in the store at release, and the prerelease will NOT be sold in the store.

No word on CE, but I'd assume aganist it too, because its so impractical.

The local Gamestop in my town says that at some unknown point in time a product they've labeled as "Nightfall DVD' will be coming in. Anyone else heard of the bonus pack being called this, or is the "Nightfall DVD" gonna be something completely ridiculously different.

I ordered my Nightfall CE from www.puolenkuunpelit.com and got pre-release pack automatically in few days. Nightfall was not sold seperately from pre-release pack. So you indeed can get it from online store but only if you pre-order game.

Well considering I can't even recognize that site's language, let alone read it

, I think I'll have to stick to waiting for the stores to stock it. I'm definitely not gonna use amazon.com. Something about that site makes me think it'd be a bad idea.
Is that site in swedish or what? I've never seen text like that before.

It is Finnish. However point is that this country nearly every big online store what sell games do same way. They make you preorder game before they send you pre-release pack.

Hi,
please need some feedback.

I want to buy the pre-order, key only, don't need and don't want to pay for delivery of a box.
So I just want a key emailed to me, unfortunately the online store in GW is not offering this. I've read Alex thread with the stores, in Europe, that sell GW and what options are available, but it seems that is not that clear like in his post, so i need, confirmed information.
So if someone have buyed the preorder key online, and received the key by email as expected, please let me know in which online store was!

Are you sure? I have seen the pre-order bonus pack in two stores -- I cancelled my bonus packs that I ordered from EBGames and purchased two in CompUSA.

Are we talking about the same thing?

"Store" in my post, was as Sith mentioned, in relation to Q/A 1 - which talks about Anet's own INGAME store.

As for buying keys only - This is not possible with the Prerelease Bonus Pack, Unless you talk a store into ripping open one of the cases and giving you the key

I preordered my copy of the Standard Edition from the Gamestop at the mall I work at and they STILL don't have the preorder packs. I called about half an hour ago and the person there is going through a shipment right now, so he asked me to call back at 4:00 because then he'd know exactly what's in the order. I really just wanted it before the actual game came out, but I had hoped to have it for this event so I could use the nifty Dervish weapon.

It is also pretty cheap here.

Fry's is sold out of the prerelease pack which is why it's no longer listed.

Hello!

When we bought Factions Pre-release, the price of the prerelease was deducted from the cost of the Standard Factions game pack. All I had to do was take my receipt back to Best Buy. I have tried to search the Official GW Site to find out if the prerelease for Nightfall was being handled the same way. (Do you BELIEVE it does NOT have search engine? Gawds!) I have also looked on the Best Buy web site and could not determine from there either. Can anyone tell me if the prerelease is deducted from the game price?

I have 3 accounts and am not going to upgrade all 3, if I dont get this break.

I bought the eu pre-release bonus pack. im new to guild wars and dont have any of the other chapters.

so can i play nightfall without buying other chapter or nightfall standard version? is the preorder bonus pack only for those who will buy the standard or CE version of nightfall?.

because now the game says i dont have the permission to play guild wars..

The bonus pack is useless unless you buy either version of Nightfall. It does not give you access to the game. You don't need Prohpecies nor Factions.

No. It's unlikely it will happen as Gaile has stated she hasn't heard anything yet; and it was a much publicized component of the Factions preorder but not mentioned for Nightfall.

I'm so angry. I go to my local Gamestop on the 22nd to pick up my pre-order pack, and find I have to pay 5 bucks for the damn thing, even though I have a pre-order for the game. To make things worse, I find that they are selling the things to ANYONE who walks in the store and pays 5 bucks for it. WTH is that? I'm going to write ANet and ask if they can either refund the 5 dollars I was forced to pay for an item that I technically already paid for, or if they would contact Gamestop on the matter because the situation does not seem right to me. >(

Anet is not responsible for it so they wont give a damn. Gamestop is the people to complain to; but they wont care either. And no; you didn't already pay for it; not even technically.

maybe someone here can help me...none of the local best buys have the preorder box in stock, however they have it at the warehouses and i can have it delivered to me. my question is:

if i order from bestbuy.com (where it is 10 bucks)...will there be anything given to me saying that i have preordered the game, and when i go buy nightfall, that the 10 bucks will be deducted?

Does amazon.com work like this in any way?

Amazon wont deduct anything at all; that's a fact. As for Bestbuy; I think you only get the deduction if you go in person.

hi. i pre ordered the nf ce from http://www.game.co.uk. i never got the prepack. then i see in a small notice after browsing a bit that they dont send the pre pack outside of uk!!
Well i live in norway and as usual there is no stores in this country that sells anything of nightfall with prepack. sooo.. what opti9on do i have? i must have the prepack and the ce... is thre any online stores in the world that cand send me atleast the key with e-mail if i ordering from them?? im gonna cancel my order from game... prize dosent rly matter, its a must have...

Petrus, game.co.uk might, might give you an online pre-order key. Check the official site, last I looked they had a list of which stores were providing email keys vs physical copies of the pre-order. If they do offer it by email, and you haven't received on within 2 weeks (that's how long it took to get mine for Factions from gameplay) then email them and see if you can't get an answer.

Well... it's not completely useless. You do get a 1 handed Spear with +5 unconditional energy & +7 Armor vs. Physical damage. You also get a Scythe that you could switch back and forth, to get the 20% longer enchantments. Not to mention... Heheh... a starting character being able to hit up to 3 foes with one swing is cool.
