Where is the best place to PRE-ORDER the CE. Because some places offer extra things... with Walmart you get a Nightfall T-shirt, GameStop give you a free poster etc... so where would be the best place to PRE-ORDER the CE? Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry if this has been asked before. I played GW before Factions came out, and I know that Factions was a full game that did not required the original GW on the machine.

Are we supposed to have had to buy the pre-order pack in addition to pre-ordering the game?
I had to pay $5.00 which I was told did not count towards the purchase of the actual Nightfall game... just curious as this was NOT the way it worked before.

Yes that is as it should be. Anet no longer offers a "preorder box", now they have the "pre-release bonus pack". They use the specific wording as it is considered a seperate retail package and not a free gift. Some retailers still offer it free, but not all. It is upto each individual retailer to decide how to handle the bonus pack.

You only had to pay $5.00 for it if you didnt order the CE and got the regular one, if you got the CE it was free

Ordered the CE from EBgames for 2 day shipping
They get the game in a week or 2 ahead..
Will they ship it out of the 24th or 25th so that it gets here on the 26th or 27th? Or will i have to wait till the 30th or 31st?

Just wondering, whether I preorder the CE edtion on amazon or buy it when it come out at local storn, will that be any difference?
There is no answer from amazon yet, they havn't charged money on my credit card as well, however my taiwan server account already received the game itself and the cd-key can be used as well, just the game hasn't started.
If there is no difference from preorder online and buy at local store when it's out, then I would probably cancel my order at amazon.

Has anyone been scouting the prices at all for opening day sales?
I just want to see if there are any costs competitions. I will be buying it opening day so I want to try to find a good deal.
BTW, Fry's in AZ posted that they will have the game in by noon on Oct 26. Are the servers open for Nightfall by then or do they open at 00:01 on 10/27?

Seems to me that with the game launch being at 3:01am (EST), well.. stores aren't open at that time, so how can I be sure to get my box in time? Hassle the store?

Start phoning around now to see who's having it out when. If you can't find anyone, you'll have to either wait for the stores to open or buy it from the ingame store.

What you are doing is paying $4.99 for an extra character slot, and a couple of weapons that you won't ever use because ingame weapons are so much better. This doesn't give you any special play time, nothing that truly sets it apart to be done except the 1/2 price slot.
Next chapter, if I play next chapter (I have played this game since beta of Prophecies) I won't do a pre order at all. It's like front money for nothing as far as I'm concerned.

^ Yes Anet is obviously the one that produced the bonus packs. But each individual retailer set their own prices for it and many even gave it away free. It is in this regard Anet is not responsible for it. If you disagree with the price, it would make no sense to complain to Anet as they did not set the price for it.

Ok, so i got my CE box today but being in a hurry I didn't notice one of the side flaps (plastic thing that seals the box lid) was off. Anyway when I got home I found everything was in there as per what they say officially on the guildwars website http://www.guildwars.com/support/gam...nts/nightfall/
but the only thing niggling me is the game activation card, because when i compared it to my Factions CE card, the (Factions) CE card front is in pure black with gold lettering " Collector's Edition" clearly marked on it whereas the Nightfall one just says Game Activation Card( on the bottom left of card), with a picture of a paragon on it and the words "Guildwars Nightfall" in the lower right. The back of the card is relatively blank with the scratchie and lettering on the lower right stating "GWNFCE-UK-SC" ( I assume the CE means Collector's Edition but i'd rather not jump to conclusions considering how the Factions card looked like).
Can anyone shed a light on the difference in the standard and CE game cards?
