Nightfall Q&A Thread: Pre-order and Retail

When we bought Factions Pre-release, the price of the prerelease was deducted from the cost of the Standard Factions game pack. All I had to do was take my receipt back to Best Buy. I have tried to search the Official GW Site to find out if the prerelease for Nightfall was being handled the same way. (Do you BELIEVE it does NOT have search engine? Gawds!) I have also looked on the Best Buy web site and could not determine from there either. Can anyone tell me if the prerelease is deducted from the game price?

I have 3 accounts and am not going to upgrade all 3, if I dont get this break.

Bestbuy and Compusa do it that way. Other retailers are doing their own crazy thing.

Well they have the Rurik and Shiro minis; I guess they decided to package Nightfall's human mini with the CE.

When you pre order guild wars nightfall are you supposed to be sent a pre order key like factions? I didnt

Depends on who you preorder with; different retailers handle it differently.

I bought the eu pre-release bonus pack. im new to guild wars and dont have any of the other chapters.

so can i play nightfall without buying other chapter or nightfall standard version? is the preorder bonus pack only for those who will buy the standard or CE version of nightfall?.

because now the game says i dont have the permission to play guild wars..

The bonus pack is useless unless you buy either version of Nightfall. It does not give you access to the game. You don't need Prohpecies nor Factions.

I'm assuming that multiple Pre-release Bonus Packs won't give multiple character slots. Can anyone confirm this?

No. It's unlikely it will happen as Gaile has stated she hasn't heard anything yet; and it was a much publicized component of the Factions preorder but not mentioned for Nightfall.

I'm so angry. I go to my local Gamestop on the 22nd to pick up my pre-order pack, and find I have to pay 5 bucks for the damn thing, even though I have a pre-order for the game. To make things worse, I find that they are selling the things to ANYONE who walks in the store and pays 5 bucks for it. WTH is that? I'm going to write ANet and ask if they can either refund the 5 dollars I was forced to pay for an item that I technically already paid for, or if they would contact Gamestop on the matter because the situation does not seem right to me. >(

Anet is not responsible for it so they wont give a damn. Gamestop is the people to complain to; but they wont care either. And no; you didn't already pay for it; not even technically.

maybe someone here can help me...none of the local best buys have the preorder box in stock, however they have it at the warehouses and i can have it delivered to me. my question is:

if i order from bestbuy.com (where it is 10 bucks)...will there be anything given to me saying that i have preordered the game, and when i go buy nightfall, that the 10 bucks will be deducted?

Does amazon.com work like this in any way?

Amazon wont deduct anything at all; that's a fact. As for Bestbuy; I think you only get the deduction if you go in person.

hi. i pre ordered the nf ce from http://www.game.co.uk. i never got the prepack. then i see in a small notice after browsing a bit that they dont send the pre pack outside of uk!!
Well i live in norway and as usual there is no stores in this country that sells anything of nightfall with prepack. sooo.. what opti9on do i have? i must have the prepack and the ce... is thre any online stores in the world that cand send me atleast the key with e-mail if i ordering from them?? im gonna cancel my order from game... prize dosent rly matter, its a must have...

Petrus, game.co.uk might, might give you an online pre-order key. Check the official site, last I looked they had a list of which stores were providing email keys vs physical copies of the pre-order. If they do offer it by email, and you haven't received on within 2 weeks (that's how long it took to get mine for Factions from gameplay) then email them and see if you can't get an answer.

Well... it's not completely useless. You do get a 1 handed Spear with +5 unconditional energy & +7 Armor vs. Physical damage. You also get a Scythe that you could switch back and forth, to get the 20% longer enchantments. Not to mention... Heheh... a starting character being able to hit up to 3 foes with one swing is cool.
