I saw Mhenlo... Hmm. THe Hero system looks grand, kinda like Dungeon Siege 2 but way more complex.

Mhenlo is easily explainable. Chapter 3 continues Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 story in Elona.

The thing i noticed was at 1.19 into the video, look at the necro hero 1, dual elites ftw lol. I can just see the possible abuses already.

Man, nightfall graphics must really kick ass, or the computer that was used to make this cinematic wasn't that great. Not only was the cinematic insanely choppy, but there was one clip where it actually showed the -perf display and it was only getting 15 fps.

Other then that, I'd say it looks pretty damn sweet. I only hope this new hero system isn't designed to lessen our dependence on online play to the point where anet can remove it entirely. I mean... they can't keep free servers running forever.

The fps has been known to dip in heavy areas with battle and loading going on.

Uhh...what? Guild Wars is an online game, there is no other current way to play it.

Also they can keep the servers running for a long time, since the system uses less bandwidth than other MMO games.

So anyone else notice the Dervish/- using Purge Signet and LoD?

And the bar full of Paragon skills... except Shielding Hands and Heal Signet?

I have to wonder, is that really how testers play through the game? I am a firm believer that testers should have very little if any special privelages on the test server... it just leads to people testing things whilst invulnerable and saying 'yep its ready for release'.

(btw, the 2 elite thing is pointless in the larger regard, the hero probably capped it [advanced skill hunter hero's!!!], or its just a Test server cheat)

You do know that the whole game architecture is based on the servers? The client is a dumb piece of software that can't scratch itsself without a lesson of how to do it from the server, which it instantly forgets. It can't be made into a single player game, as long as anet keeps making sales - in any shape, manner or form - it'll be fine.

Man, I'm totally pumped up about this. What a nice trailer! brings along a lot of cool info, along with the great visuals and music.

i do find it... interesting, that the male paragon at 0:50 wears armor that leaves an exposed belly, while the female does not. yea. It looks weird.

Yes, I surely hope they make it playable in SP and LAN once the game's lifetime is up (which most likely will happen sometime in the next 5-10 years)...

Wow!!! O_O

That was a really nice ingame cinematic and the control interface looks very complex, yet seem easy to manage. I can't wait for the event tomorrow and have the chance to study, and handle the new interface.

Of course because that is the weakness of the Paragon and Dervish. Single powerful targets. In factions the classes were designed for single targets so they made huge groups to make it more difficult.

Your Hero's AI determines when skills are used, but you can interrupt that routine by clicking on a skill on the Hero's small skill bar. By clicking on a skill, you prioritize that skill; you'll see a green check mark over that skill on the small skill bar. The Hero will not use any other skills until successfully using that skill. The Hero will attempt to use your target.
Hmm direct control in other words. You can send Heroes to where you want on the map, control if they are aggressive/defensive/passive and even control the skills they use directly.

It sounds like a thorough system but I just hope it doesn't adversely affect people teaming up (i.e. actual people) instead of it being a giant bot-fest.

I just realized something.... The voicover sounds EXACTLY like James Earl Jones. Maybe they finally hired some good actors for this thing. Now that would be sweet.
