Ascalon Bow Upgrade Bug?

I tried to upgrade an Ascalon Recurve Bow (one I've had since before they started saying what type of ascalon bow it is) with a Barbed bow string. The chat window says that it was upgraded, but the bow did not get the upgrade. It is still called an Ascalon Recurve Bow and does not have the 33% increased length mod. Anyone else seen this happen?

Barbed strings have always had this problem. People have speculated that only Faction-found bows can take the upgrade, but I don't know.

Visual Glitch, log out and back in and see if its there. I've heard of it happening before.

Kami - They were SUPPOSED to fix the major problems with Barbed Strings like that, it was an update note not long ago :\

Logging in and out didnt help - it still doesnt have the upgrade. Guess they didnt fix the barbed string bug.

yeh, i've seen one of this before, even in screenies... the player also tried 2nd and third time to mod the bow, all failed but...

apparently this bug's here for ages...

Yea, this bug has been in the game for a while now. This is one of the reasons I always use greens. =)

Happens with the Crippling Bow String too.

I have a perfect customised Storm Bow I dropped 50 ectos on back in the day with no prefix cause crippling disappears when it's applied :\
