Nightfall Event Game Play

Do you need anything to play the Nightfall event?

A free character slot

just an open character slot. once the event begins, you'll be able to create a nightfall character.

I thought it was to open 36 minutes ago...guess it's still down. No update on the website either.

I'm a stay at home mom/home business owner/full time online student (Boy don't that make me sound busy?) so I'm pretty much always home except when I'm dropping the munchkin off at school. I've got all my work done up through Monday so I'm free to play. yay!

I was seriously considering it.... then I said naw.... then I caught a cold and here I am!!! HOME!!!!! It's all good, I have the days.

calling in sick at work just to stay home to play a video game is a bit extreme

Ok, I won't have a chance to start playing the Nightfall event until I get home from work, but what I would like to know, which hopefully someone has an answer for, is will EVERYTHING that you obtain from the preview event be erased once the event is over? So, like if you pick up a weapon on the Nightfall character you create and put the item in your storage, will it be gone at the end of the event? Another question is if you make a Dervish or Paragon (or even a core profession) and unlock a skill or two by doing a quest or something. If you unlock a skill, I know that you won't be able to use the skill once the event stops, but if you do unlock the skill (which of course is used for PvP character creation and I believe is account-based), will you have to unlock it later down the road when Nightfall is finally released in October or will that information be stored on your account as being unlocked?

All skills, runes, and weapon mod unlocks stay. But all your items and anything on your character is erased. They dont delete things from your storage, because you can never access it. In other words nothing you get during this event will be able to go into your storage because its disabled.

You can't access storage in the preveiw. All items and XP on your character (and perhaps the character itself, but that is debateable), will be deleted.

Skills unlocked will stay unlocked on your account, but will not stay with your character (who may be deleted anyway).

Ahh, ok. That would make sense. I didnt know they disabled the storage for the preview, which would be the smart thing to do. My plan is to do some of the missions/quests, and if I happen come across on unlocking a skill (to use in PvP later down the road) or unlocking a mod, than that would be great!

Now, if I only wasn't stuck at work.

I'm pretty much in the event to scout out new skills, weapons and armor. I could really care less about the Dervish or Paragon.

Anyway, here was my first discovery: Sunspear Armor

I don't know... I'll probably poke around a bit and see what's up with the Dervish class. However, for the Factions Preview Event I went a crazy and explored all of Echovald and the Jade Sea. That left me feeling a little "content deprived" when Factions was actually released because I had seen so much of it.

I think I prefer being pleasantly surprised when new content is released. (I know I won't be totally in the dark because I read the forums.)

Besides that, there's just a sea of Dervishes and Paragons running around. I've already seen about 5 dopplegangers of the Dervish girl I made.

Meh...

Anyone else feeling this way? Am I being ridiculous?

i did the first mission in less than 7 minutes and poked around a bit and it looks beautiful.

cant wait to bring my favorite characters over and start exploring.

i wont spoil the fun by peeking under the tree on Christmas eve and spoiling the surprise in the morning.
