Well since you can choose weapons/sheilds and apparently will be able to get new armor for your heros, do you think soon we will see people decking out their heros?
I know it sounds silly, but if you could afford it, why not buy your hero a 15k set? Maybe some rare skin weapon/shield/staff too?
Hell it's almost like playing two character's at once, your hero is really an extension of yourself, so I imagine people will spend money on their heros...
Another thing, I do foresee a problem with heros, and that is the interference they may cause in hero/human mixed parties.
Everyone is going to want to take THIER hero on missions (because heros gain xp from mission rewards), and I think this is going to cause fighting amongst people.
"Oh no your hero SUCKS mine is so much better! Kick your hero NOW!!"
Everyone is going to have the abililty to bring their heros along, and consaquently fill up party slots... And imagine later in the game when everyone is going to have 3 heros... It's gonna be chaos...

Sadly, you're probably right, everyone wants to have their own way and with the immaturity you constantly see in MMOs, it probably will be chaos....
(Slight suggestion, maybe have only the party leader be able to bring their heros???)

You will NOT be able to craft new armor for your Hero!
I've been thinking about how this will effect PUGs, and my thought is, heroes will only replace Humans when a suitible player can't be found (MM, Monk, Nuker, etc).
Course, I could be wrong, and there could be a lot of 2 person parties... (with 3 heroes each).
Of course, if such a party fails, there's not much room for finger-pointing!
"It wasn't me - it was my Hero!"
The party leader can always kick someone who refuses to "play by the rules".

You cannot buy your heros any armor. Read the official Hero Explained on guildwars.com or this site. And as far as rare and expensive weapons... nothing will be expensive soon, if you have been following the 'inscriptions' information we've been getting.
Hope that makes you feel better

You cannot replace a hero's armor, it upgrades automatically, per GW site. You cannot dye. You can use Runes.
My point was, if someone was being a baby about their Heros, Kick them!
You don't have to take people who refuse to leave their heroes behind.

How Heroes Work (copied from) http://www.guildwars.com/support/gam...all/heros1.php Hero Armor You cannot replace a Hero's armor through the Inventory panel. A Hero's armor level improves as the character gains levels. Certain quests may change the appearance of a Hero's armor. In the retail version of the game, you can use Runes to alter a Hero's armor, but you cannot use Dyes to alter its appearance. |
