How to run GW from an exiting GW folder
1 pages • Page 1
I seem to remember reading that if you copy the files to the desired folder. Example:
C:\Program Files\GuildWars\
Then run the GW.exe file it should detect that this is a new install. From this point it will install itself and create all reg keys and shortcuts etc.
I've not tried this however but mearly read it.

I recently reinstalled Windows... I backed up the GW folder, reinstalled the OS, installed the latest client from the GW site, ran it once so a GW.dat file was created, then I overwrote the GW.dat with the one I backed up. Worked great.
Edit: I went ahead and installed the client on the fresh OS since I'm not sure if it makes registry changes or not. Too lazy to find out.
