Nightfall Inside Jokes
Ruricu
Even more of an inside, inside joke is the quest "What do you do with a Drunken Shauben?"
The sunspears you have to release and bring back with you are all named after officers on the Spearmen guild. Shauben=Spearmen in elonian.

Most likely a reference to over-zealous use of the /bug feature in the betas; I must admit to being somewhat responsible
The aforementioned "Goldfinger" reference
The mime quest accept and reject from the preview; can't recall if they changed on release, but both cracked me up
Ooooo, ANet having a subtle dig at the more traditional MMO funding method?
Not really an inside joke (although I seem to recall something similar from somewhere else), but very funny
Reference to the 80s movie starring Dan Aykroyd and (I think) Chevy Chase; also a Beatles reference.
Don't know where it's from, but it tickled me
And I just couldn't resist this

Not sure if this is already mentioned
but the warrior boss 'enadiz headbutt' is the french soccer player zidane's name spelled backwords. Zidane headbutt someone during fifa 2006, and he happens to have the elite skill headbutt O_O.

Quite obvious no?

One of the heroes occasionally shouts " Fly you fools ! " , which is Gandalf's last line before he falls into the chasm together with the Balrog in LotR
Also, one of the healer hero's says : " Ewww, blood .. ".
Which is just plain funny

What's up with Mhenlo and Cynn?
Yes, I have Factions and know of the comments from Cynn about the 'girls'
Any more of those references around?

Cynn sometimes talks about how Mhenlo is too soft.

Yet another glorious Monty Python inside joke. Anyone catch the one where you get the banana scythe from a quest? Oh, man, I fell off my chair laughing when I saw this and yelled "pointed stick" in guild chat. Good times. Makes me want to go into a PvP battle and scream while I wield my banana scythe. I just hope nobody is carrying a gun or I'm done for. And for those that haven't seen it, go here. Go now! http://youtube.com/watch?v=ByZqx30Ov...elated&search=

I don't know if it has been mentioned but the player accepts a quest from Dunkoro in the command post with 'I love it when a plan comes together', which I think is a reference to the A Team.

There is also a Paragon skill "Awe" tailored to go with "Shock"
The Paragon shouts are just a gratuitous abuse of pop culture references.
"They're on fire!" is likely a reference to NBA Jam, after hitting enough baskets the announcer would yell "He's on fire!" and all balls would set the net on fire.

I'll be Back is a reference to Terminator.

The names of the various corsairs and Kournans are often funny...
I ran across a "Captain Khurik" or something analogous, suspiciously similar to the beloved (?) William Shatner.
The "Drakes on a Plain" made me laugh and laugh.

"Springtime for Varesh", the script you find in one of those Resplendent Makkun quests, is a reference to "Springtime for Hitler" from The Producers.
Also, the plant described in Botanical Research is suspiciously similar to a common real-life "study aid." :P

I don't think this has been mentioned:
Heket is actually the egyptian frog-goddess of childbirth.

I didn't read the whole thread, sorry if this one has been pointed out already...
In the mission where you have to free Kormir from prison, she's in cell block 1138 - this one's a bit convoluted, but George Lucas' first movie was titled "THX1138" and in Star Wars, when they're going to rescue Princess Leia in the Death Star, Luke says "Prisoner transfer to cellblock 1138."
More THX 1138 info here: http://www.geocities.com/Area51/4456/thx1138.html (not my page, I Google'd it)

I can't believe this one hasn't been listed yet. For the quest, "Koss' Elixir", you fight a creature called Slort Nilbog. Reverse the spelling and you get Goblin Trols. From wikipedia : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nilbog
I also ran across this one last night which made me laugh out loud :

Alpha males and Alpha females, you will hear these two terms used alot in documentary programs... watch Animal Planet. But as Artisan said, it's of biblical reference.
Someone pointed out that the Remains of Sahlahja was just like pacman... isn't that strange :P?
