I got survivle title 1 but i died in vazunah square mission. I kinda feel sorry about me dying cause i wanted 2nd title more because its more "leet".
Is having the tittle #1 and not able of getting title #2 still looking as a bright side of having it atleast?
Survivor title

I've heard the opposite, and Wiki has stated as such. Once you die, that's it. Any progress you made just stops. I mean how can you really claim the legendary survivor title if you have in fact died? One of my toons got Survivor (1). And I'm satisfied with it. Even more so that I got it just playing and no powerlevelling and such.

I don't know, I'd like to see a way to get it. |
Maybe if they were to increase the experience required for each title... but were to allow death's between titles? Maybe that would make it real pursuable title track? I believe it might
For example : You start a character, and you have to get a 1 million exp for Survivor title. You get that one, but you die. Fair enough, no biggie. But you need like, 5 million, or 10 million, or whatever, for title 2. You get halfway to the title, but die. You have to start over, getting all that experience back -without dying- once and all the rest towards the title, in order to get the next one.
I mean, it would still be harder than a frozen crab covered in cement, but at least that title track would never be totally out of reach to you... no matter how many times you died... and it wouldn't really be 'betraying' the concept of you having to 'Survive' through a £$!&load of experience gain. I just think the Survivor Track as it stands wasn't particularly well thought-out... or this system i'm describing would of been the obvious choice.
Maybe im just bitter though... cause I used all my slots too, before even knowing there even was such a track... meh.

I get the point you're trying to make, but then the title could not be called Survivor.

They could call it : Highlander! Or the McCloud title, ftw

...after all, he -was- immortal... you just couldn't cut off his head, basically.

when I see someone with Survivor title..first thing I think is LEECH! I've left many mission groups where some jerk doesn't do anything because he/she is trying to get survivor title. I don't see the title as some great accomplishment..quite the opposite. Sorry for you people who actually played through and didn't die and got the title...but the leechers have ruined it.

Also I like the idea of being able to get a clean slate to pursue the title with a character that died. I believe that will cut down on some of the leechers.
As I've argued in the other thread ("People Know Me"), the main draw (and only difficulty) in this title is that you can't die.
I have no argument with allowing those who already had prophecies characters to have a shot at the title - by allowing you to erase your death count *once*. Allowing you to erase your death count at-will, as many times as you like, completely defeats the point of the title, regardless of how hard it is.
I don't group with people when I'm going for survivor. I take henchmen, because they're much more reliable.

Then I purposely suicided myself to see something, and about 5 seconds after I died, I remembered I had been trying to stay alive...

I have gone through and gotten the survivor title on four characters since Factions came out (I only have one to level 2 currently, and only two of the four still haven't died), and the one thing that they all have in common is that I have never partied with another human with those characters. Real people are so unpredicatable that it would be suicidal to try to do it with an actual human party.
When I first saw the Survivor title, I was glad they introduced it. Playing diablo II hardcore prior to this is the biggest reason why. It is one thing to complete the game/get millions of exp/etc., it is extremely difficult to do it without ever dying once. Which is the entire point. If you die, but you really want the title, you can always delete the character and start over, but be more careful the second time.
What you are asking for with a title that lets you die but continue along the path as if you hadn't died would then be just experience based -having absolutely nothing to do with your ability to stay alive. So that would need to be a completely different title, which was named as such, having nothing to do with survival.
And just to note deaths in missions DO end your pursuit of the title. If you use the /resign command it doesn't. Also, if you die in the PvP battle during searing in prophecies, it also counts as a death.
I am used to playing characters where, if you die, your character and anything that he/she was carrying at the time is lost and gone forever. If you die in Guildwars all you lose is your ability to be called a "Survivor". If they were to ever make it so deaths could be cleared, there would be no reward for playing it as such.

Unfortunately there seems to be a bug so you sometimes die without noticing it. Which was what happened to me today (for the second time in 2 weeks I might add). Mapped out, at full health (520 or something with prot spirit and spirit bond on me, from the troll warrior boss outside Droks) got a death. Anet seems to know about this problem and are looking for a solution.
Hahahaha, just kidding, it's on their to-do list, probably at the end, near the waste basket.
