To Dye For

Does anyone know the requirements for the Dye Trader's quest?

I've done all the other merchants' ones and I'm level 6 (people level 3 have gotten it).

I believe you need a certain sunspear commander level.

At the moment I have 127 points and I am Master Seargant. My friend has 172 and the same rank and he has gotten the quest.

He has the quest to be Honorable General but mine is for Captain so we'll see if that's it.

Must be based on your primary. I got the Honorable General quest and now he's talking to me. Makes me wonder how those level 3 chars got the quest.. o_O

Was it your first trip to the sunspear great hall?

I'd been there many times but it was my first trip to Jokanur Diggings.

Speaking of which does anyone think the reward is a little crazy? I mean you could keep creating a character going there over and over for black dye. I hope they change that to a certain color a dye remover or something.

Cheaper black dye prices? Ya, that would SOOOOO suck.

yeah I had to finish the honored general quest before I got "To Dye for" with my Dervish... even then it wasn't all that easy. I basicly just let my henchies die and sprinted for the flower.

I doubt people are going to make char's work them up to level 7 or 8, do 20 lead up quests and what not to get a random dye that could just be worh $120 (( I got a red))

I didn't have to finish the quest.

If you want flowers pm "Woo Free Preview" I'm district hopping giving them out again.

And remaking a char doesn't matter cause the reward, even if its black isnt worth anything. :P

I think the above poster ment he hopes it changes in the full release. as... he mentiones "I hope they change it".


I for one wish I had the luck of some of the people on here. Some get multible black dye drops in a preview event. Some are all like "I got 2 my first day!"

I've been playing 8 months and haven't gotten one black dye drop, ever.

I didn't know there was a req. I just kinda wandered around and picked up the quest. Got a black dye as reward. I was very excited, then kinda sad because I couldn't sell it. lol I used it on my armor and wasn't happy with the results.

Have you completed the quest for the merchant, the armouror and the rune trader? I didn't get the Dye quest until I had finished the rune trader quest, which I didn't get until I'd finished the other traders quests. (There might be other trader quests than the ones I mentioned - those are just the ones I remembered.)
