Nightfall questions

Just a couple of questions regarding Nightfall.

First, I bought the pre-release bonus pack today, and there's an option on the disk for installing the client. If I do this, will it help with loading content from the online server, as it seems to take forever to load new areas during the preview.

Another question that hasn't been covered, and I'm thinking the answer is no. But will Nightfall give us the materials storage that Factions brought us? Or will that be a Factions only thing? I would love to have that storage, but I can't shell out that much money right now for both games. I'll be doing good to get Nightfall when it comes out.

Getting the client from the disk will NOT help the loadtime on areas. If you wish to make your loadtimes faster check out the Community Works forums for the switch commands.

As for the storage guy, I wouldn't bet on it. Seeing as Prophecies characters didn't obtain the upgrade. Who knows though?

I'm fairly certain the storage upgrade is for Factions only. Though Nightfall may get its own addition to add onto it.

Yeah the lag times arn't because you don't have the stuff on disk. it's because everyone, their mother, brother and cousin Fred are all on playing the free preview...

I was playing last night, everything was normal and fine, load times to go into cities were a bit slow.

I got on today and load times into and out of cities were about 3 minutes, either way....

I get back on tonight, after Midnight EST and my load times are about 2 seconds.

It's just that the servers are packed with all the "Freebie players"

Man I just wish my screen wouldn't fill up with

"Can I keep all this stuff after the preview"

Questions when I'm in town or the other one

"Where's the storage? I want to save the stuff from the preview"

Promtly followed by

"No storage access dumbass, it's just a preview weekend"

I can't go into any town with out seeing all of those posted about 10 times. I mean I know... i'm on GW forums boards so I'm a little better informed than say... Joe 6 pack Player... but is it THAT hard to figure out?? That some moron has to ask those two questions every 20 seconds?

(( And no, the question above in this thread about the expanded Storage isn't what I"m talking about. I'm talking about morons farming and trying to pass their goods off to GW:P or F char's to try and sell /use there.))

If you are using Windows, go to "Start: menu, select "Run..." and run this command with Guild Wars closed:

"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image

Change the GW.Exe directory as appropriate. Expect to wait a while as it downloads lots of files. Subsequent runs of GW would be fast, though.
