Closed Gates

When exploring Cantha, I stumble sometimes to a closed gate in an Outpost or City. Most of the times it doesn't interfear with the story, like in Tanaki Temple in the notrh there is a gate (more like a sewer entry) which is closed, and there is no guard or so to talk to. So I wonder do we have to open this to get to the area vehind it ?

So, if you know more about this or encoutered simular closed gates let me know ...

Closed gates are very common all over Cathan.

Basically they are designed to stop any form of running and also forcing people to play the story line.

This doesn't just include missions, but PRIMARY QUESTS as well.

So if you find yourself stuck behind a closed gate, make sure your've first completed all Primary quests, as they are the ones which open locked gates for different towns.

Check on Guildwiki for which quests are primary.

You will also find gates that are closed because you are either Canthan or Tyrian, and they only allow a certain one through. Though there are ways around that.

Check on Guildwiki for which quests are primary. I wouldn't say they stop *any* form of running, just most. Theres plenty of places i'd pay for a run, but nobody bothers to do it, because theres this whole conception of no running in factions. and there are the repeatable quests that are built for runners of course. but i guess thats all slightly off topic.

so yeah. do your primary quest sita.
