Shattering Assault [Elite] Overpowered?
Kassad
More or less, it's shatter enchant (in melee form) that does 2 times more damage, with a 4 sec recharge.
Seems kind of overpowered, PvE and PvP wise.
Opinions?

It's a dual attatck. You can't really get those off every 4 seconds. Not even close.

I would add that with paramedics that heal without enchantments, and enchantment removal benefits from the dervish, this skill may not be as attractive as it seems. The damage bonus still is really monstruous.

That too.

Even so, that's about every 6 seconds, not 4, and if you miss one of those first two, things go pfffft!

now for the second part of the dual strike, do u have to remove an ecnament to for the second +79 dam? or is it 1 ecnament all togeather for both +79 dam.
phoenixtech
i'm pretty sure you have to remove 2 enchanments to get the 2X +79 damage. I messed around with this skill a bit and it doesn't seem that effective. Alot of times the enemy will only have 1 enchant on and if you run into a non-enchant based (BL monks) group you basically lost your elite.
Former Ruling
Dependong on THEM being enchanted is a bad requirement, thats why its +dmg is so high.

Tho this thing totally owns smite builds..

Imo this skill is actually pretty bad for being an elite. Its extremely conditional and unlike shatter enchant you cant just save it in the back of your bar for killing off enchants, its one of your base attack skills, part of your attack chain, which you will be using all the time. If you hit someone without an enchant (which will probably be at least 66 percent of the time) you get no damage bonus. Comparing Shattering Assault and Blades of Steel (or even death blossum) I would say Blades of Steel comes out as a better skill even though shattering is an elite.
Shattering could be made a bit better by making it so it cannot be blocked or evaded OR making it so it knocked down OR add some other helpful thing to it like bleeding or something. I just think that shattering just needs a bit more umf to make it a decent elite.

It's incredibly powerful if under the right circumstances, because with two enchantments you're doing 160 bonus damage plus 2 dagger hits. Combined with Unsuspecting strike, which adds a VERY substantial amount, and a quickly recharging offhand attack, you're looking at some stupidly powerful spike damage. Only problem is its not nearly reliable enough for it to see any sort of use. Its one of those things that looks really good at first glance, but when you think about the conditions required for it to work well, you're better off with something else.

the minus is you have to hit with it ... and if you miss then you do squat ... on the other hand that applies to almost any melee class

Guardian is one of the spam skills of a smiter. If this one misses its useless too.
And a lot of enchants in PvP are blocking or evading ones. Besides that.
Wards ftw

Wards ftw

Just so everyone knows, according to the skill description, the attack will still hit and mark your opponent with the dual-attack symbol, it will just do normal attack damage instead.

and the fact that all they need is one dodge to ur combo and it's screwed. plus, as an elite it's just about right.

Where do you capture up shattering assault I can't pick up in the sunspear temple place?
I thought shattering assault seems pretty kool especially the annoyance of protective spirit and other stuff. Feels like it's fastest disenchanting skill out there. I think there are very interesting trick that can hit through block and evasion plus low recharge with this boon.
Maybe a Ranger/Assasin. Iono.
Nah I don't think it's overpower. Dagger Sin's still feels nerf. I think scythe sins still outdamage daggers, because they got low recharge attacks and some scythe skill don't require attack speed, it's aoe, and scythe attack skill can be completely independent from one another. I'm freaking doing 98 damage without special skill scythe attack while strike with unsuspecting strike cost 10 energy and does 110 damage with max 16 critical attribute, 124 damage if I get lucky a critical hit. And it's total BS when using and off-hand and lead attack your chances of double non-special attack just drops to zero lowering chance in obtain energy. While scythe you don't have to worry about that crap, regular scythe damage = if you were able to do that same damage if daggers trigger both crits and double attack.

Or take two dual attacks... Jagged + Wild + TF / Shattering Assault
audioaxes
it would be overpowered if the damage was unconditional but its not
